Am crawling backwards through the archives, as you can tell. Well, we know how little damage Beauty caused that time. And death came to both spear and its master not a moment too soon. I continue to bless Bilbo for giving Frodo the mithril corslet.

Very unusal perspective, but skilfully done. I like how you show the relationship between the narrator and its master. Good that the narrator didn't succeed! Greetings, Nienor

Whoa! Very, very good - you should submit this for a short-short someplace; it's really original and powerful! Came looking for some nice post-Quest Shire history to inform Sam & Frodo's conversations at the end of "Wizard" and found this instead - glad I did! Hope you're feeling better today. jo Author Reply: Thanks, the antibiotics seem to be kicking in at last. We'll see what happens after I've taken the last one (the nasty little bug popped up again after the last course ended). Appreciate the encouragment! Post Quest history... ummm, "Comedy of Merrys" is fun, and "Solid Ground" is about as far as I've written into the future of the Shire thus far. Both are in progress, but coming along well. Hope Wizard is doing the same (coming along well, I mean).

Interesting perspective. Not many stories follow an Orcs point of view and none to my mind are done from the perspective of an orc weapon. Author Reply: Thanks for the review. I was in an odd mood when I wrote this. Quite an odd mood. You're probably right about the uniqueness of the perspective. Who'd *want* to write such a story? *grin*
