I'm sorry I haven't left a review before, but I've just been to eager to find out what happens next to stop reading. This fic is outstanding ! Your characterization is excellent, and I like how you flesh out the personalities of the characters. I liked how Eowyn was the first to figure out the green knight was Legolas, although I flinch at the idea of a pregnant woman drinking alcohol, even though it is historically correct as they wouldn't have known the dangers associated with that in that type of culture. Bandy is a very cute, likeable little Hobbit. The story itself is interesting and well-paced. Even without any type of knowledge of tournaments and jousting aside from watching 'A Knight's Tale' I can still follow what's going on in the matches. I'm looking forward to reading more of this adventure.

Dummy, put your helmet back on!!!! Do you want the whole world to know who you are??? Don't answer that... *runs to Legolas and shoves his helm over his head* *runs back* *blinks* Oiy Valar! *slaps forehead* It's backwards! *runs up to him again, rips helm off, carefully turns it 180 degrees, and shoves it back down* *runs back panting* THERE! Now you can whip the tail this 'Captain' fellow.

Ha! Show them to mess with a hobbit and his elf! Bandy is so brave... :-D :-D Legolas is brave too, of course, but it isn't as cute as Bandy being brave. It's sweet how devoted they are too each other. I love Bandy. Can I have him when you're done writing about him???? ;)

Sheesh, be given a gripping chapter like than and then no uninterrupted time to read it! I must have had to come back five times. Anyway ~ Frantic!Legolas to the rescue! I knew Bandy could count on him. But it rang so true that he was not so much courageous as he was scared to death, and the following scene amid the aftermath was touching, to say the very least. I was not surprised that Legolas was in no mood then for Gimli's banter, and said so, showing a sober and shaken side of him. Just perfect. What a great bunch of knights those were! It seems Legolas will never truly lack friends when he needs them. These traitor/corsair-types underestimated him once, and I think it may safely be said that they have not yet fully grasped just what kind of trouble they are asking for in provoking Elessar, Faramir, Legolas, AND Thranduil. In short, another absolutely brilliant chapter, still one of the best fanfics I've read. Starting to like cliff-hangers, are we? :)

Bandy was wonderful, as ever. He showed courage and determination inspite of his fears and the threats and blows of his captors. Though Legolas could not have timed his arrival any better. But I fear that our heroes are none the wiser as far as the identity of their opponent(s) is concerned, and Legolas in his wrath left none to question. And the knowledge about his identity spreads, though I would have trusted those knights as well, since they followed him without a second thought. But I seem to be not the only one to mistrust Elessar's councilors. BTW I am so enraptured by your story that I failed to notice that you usually update on Mondays (if that is what you mean by 'Monday is Green Knight day'). So I do have to wait for next Monday to find out who those mysterious riders are? There's not much choice. Its either Faramir and his men or the captain of those that took Bandy captive. So next Monday will reveal more? I am waiting;-) fliewatuet

Oh, that was wonderful! The way Legolas came charging into the clearing, and the speed with which he defeated them all was just as I had hoped for. But his reaction afterward was the very best of all, crying over the Hobbit, and Bandobras choking out "I can't breathe!" Sweet and powerful and moving and funny too. Magnificently done. These knights are indeed exemplary models of the breed, but I wonder if everyone will be so understanding when Legolas is revealed at last. Wonderful work, as always. Thank you! Lamiel
