| What a fascinating development of a seemingly simple idea. I admire your use of dialogue among the Elves - you captured their nobility and their grace in their speech, as well as impressing upon the reader that these people would live (almost) forever. Yet you managed at the same time to show how much they cared for each other and for the future of their world. This was beautifully conceived and written. Author Reply: Thank you Budgielover! I only take credit for the writing though - concept for this one took no work at all, just came POOF! into my head and stayed long enough for me to jot it down. ;-D | |

| I had to reread it to soak it in, but I enjoyed it. The Elves talked and acted like Elves should and not out of character...that is admirable for that is rare amung authors. Very well done. Author Reply: Kitt, Oh, thank you dearly. To hear that my Elves are Elvish always makes my day. :-) | |

| This was fascinating, AfterEver. I admit, I'm not well-versed on the details of this time period, so I had some difficulty comparing what happened versus what should have happened. But even with this difficulty, I got the sense of events gone wrong with possibly tragic consequences. Have you thought about continuing with this AU? It would be interesting to see how the future unfolded as a result of this change. Nicely plotted and written. Author Reply: Hi LKK, Don't worry, you're not missing anything! The Last Alliance ended with Sauron's fall, along with the fall of Gil-galad. The AUness in this vignette can be summed up basically in the last paragraph, as that part most certainly didn't happen in canon. As for continuing, oh yes indeed, I've thought about it. | Ohhh....wicked, evil creature! ;) You stop here? Nay, I shall pester and hound thee until there is more! I liked this. Very easy to see it happening, and as always, you have such a...old-fashioned style here. It fits the story perfectly. "To sleep, perchance to dream..." Sorry, the Shakespeare came to mind. *g* I like AU's that are well-thought out and this is...but there should be at least something to show us what possibly became as a result of this. Please? I'm sooooo far behind in reading everything. RL has been brutal, but I'm glad I saw the author update and checked it out. :) And don't think I won't track you down to see if there is more of this in the offing! Take care!
