Oh my, that first one was fantastic! I giggled all the way through ... :-) "Why doesn't Legolas just translate it?" asked Gimli. "Why else did we bring that Elf with us, anyway?" "I thought he came because he was being punished for losing Gollum," Boromir said. Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoy these wee tales, especially the lighthearted ones. They're such fun. :)

What I loved best about these ficlets was how you take us through a range of emotions and places. Hobbits being hobbits, hobbits being persons of importance in a foreign land, hobbits at home and hobbits changed and grieved by what they have bourne. The last piece was wonderfully bittersweet - you know Frodo will eventually leave because he cannot stay any longer. My favorite, though, was "Speak Friend and Enter" just because I could so see the humor dancing in Frodo's eyes during this exchange. And the resignation in Aragorn's. I bet Merry was practically howling. This little ficlet so perfectly portrays Shirebound's hobbits, in all their teasing and love and outlook on life. Author Reply: Oh Budgie, thank you! I'm so happy to be able to bring my love, respect, and enjoyment of hobbits to life; and the fact that others enjoy them as well will forever amaze and thrill me.

I always loved these little collections of stories from you! This one was such a broad range too! Especially liked "On the Horizon". Very clever having the anniversary of the Barrow plaguing Frodo too. Poor Frodo - there's barely a day in the year that he *isn't* in some sort of pain! Author Reply: Thanks, Pervinca! I just can't seem to stop writing about hobbits, especially Frodo. (My mind comes up with the strangest things, and the most obscure anniversaries!)

Awesome, shirebound! I have to say my favorite is Princes of the Land--and On the Horizon--that was very nice! I was rotfl while reading the first few paragraphs. Thanks for sharing your imagination! Pippinfan Author Reply: Thanks, Pippinfan! I don't know where all these ficlets are coming from, but I hope they keep coming!

Wow, Shirebound! Those are so good! I love them! Especially the last one, it was sad, and sweet at the same time! keep up the good work! Namarië! ~Lossenchristal:) Author Reply: Thank you! That last one ("On the Horizon") started out very different, and just evolved into Frodo's vision of the West. I think he would have been just as clairvoyant after the Quest than before, if not more so.
