| Adelard and lasses! It is very funny! This is just a question..what do wheelchairs look like in the Shire? Are they made of wood? Just wondering....great chapter! Author Reply: I felt I was exploring Paladin's childhood sweetheart story with Eglantine in the "present" world, why not show at leas a slightly hormonal Adlelard? No harm done, except for him looking at the lasses--no matter what "kind" they were! Elf lasses, hobbit lasses...just lasses in general! :-P Wheelchairs...I'd have to say yes. Most everything was made from wood, and I believe wheelchairs were no different. Wheelchairs did exist way back yonder. They were fashioned a bit differently than the ones you see today; I envisioned a higher back, flatter wooden wheels (hard on the backside!), and made of a lighter but sturdy wooden material. No good pushing a heavy-weight! My best guess is to plunk in the phrase "wheel chair, history" into your search engine and you may find more than you'll ever want to know! :-) Pippinfan | |
