Saruman doesn't truly understand who it is he is up against. Hobbits have strength he knows nothing about, like the Ents. This is a grand story thus far!

Ah! No, no, no, no, no!!! Frodo's sick, Merry's hurt, and Saruman has them under his spell!! And their rescuers are no closer to saving them than they were before! Janet, the suspense is killing me! For some reason, I never thought that Saruman would want to recreate the One Ring. It shouldn't have surprised me, but it did. I mean, seriously, why else would he want the Ringbearer? I'm definitely enjoying this story and the way you've been writing it. It must be hard to keep three different story lines going at the same time. And all the different characters! But it's all coming together quite nicely and understandably. Wonderful chapter! :)

You're right! My nails will never survive this!!! I'm so glad your updating here at SoA as well, for ff.net doesn't work. A very good chapter... but ... poor Frodo has so much to suffer! And Merry, I hope he'll be alright soon!

Hey there! :) Yay for my brave Pippin! I just wanted to cuddle him for a good long time. Such a brave little guy. Gotta love him. But there's still an Elf in trouble! Hurry up and rescue him, please! I hate to see Elves in pain. Elrohir has got to be terribly, terribly worried and anxious to get to his twin. Heck, rescue all of them- quick! I hate to see any of our favs in any kind of torment or pain. But then again, without that, where's the story? lol Keep up the good work. Your stories make for a wonderful respite in my busy days. :) -Little Mouse

Its a good thing Sam was captured with Frodo since Sam's experiences with the ring would have benefitted Saruman greatly. Poor Merry, I never blamed him since he is not accustomed to such cruel manipulation. Interesting that his experience with the Witch-king didn't turn up, but I imagine Saruman was employing some kind of evil search-engine. Your evil plan is entirely plausible, especially in light of the "Unfinished Tales" account of finding the chain Isildur used to hold the ring hidden at Isengard. Saruman abandoned wisdom and sanity long ago.

Good chapter. I wasn't sure what Saruman wanted with Frodo, but probing his mind for information and details about the One Ring was not an idea I had considered. Wow. Poor Frodo. They'd better find him soon, before his will starts faltering. I hope no long-term harm was done to Merry by the way Saruman invaded and then so abruptly left his mind. How's my wonderful Pippin doing? Hope we find out more about his situation in the next chapter. Hope RL doesn't get too hectic(don't know if I spelled that right at all). Thanks. Connie.

Hurrah for Frodo! He got through to Gandalf!:) Poor Merry though...:( I like your description of Sauruman's plans to make new rings. It sounds very probable considering how I think Tolkien described him. Great job! Another super chapter! Please continue soon!:)They need to rescue Elladan, for one... I am sure he is getting tired of lying there, even if he does have the star-glass..;) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Saruman is very evil indeed. I hope Frodo can hold on long enough to reveal to him that he can communicate with the three that still hold the elven rings. How you too weave a tale of intrigue, angst, action.

intenseness indeed... jeez..makes me want to reread and reread (or go on reading the next part ;) =) just one q: why is Frodo coughing?.. do these powers make him sick in some way that affects the lungs? I suppose this ties in with his bout with fever, right? i guess speaking through the mind and not being used to it may have complications with a little hobbit. awww~!! "Frodo hang on!!!" ::can't wait for more:: thanks a lot, Shirebound. =)
