I can't believe there aren't more reviews for this. It's an incredible poem of beautiful structure, restrained yet intense. What I'd expect of Elves. From organization to rhyme pattern to choice of vocabulary, you wrote an excellent and evocative portrait. Lindorien

I reviewed this on HASA, although I just checked and my comment wasn't very detailed and I forgot to sign it. I think this poem is amazing, it's nice and long, and very powerful and moving. I'm going to confess that I've memorised it, which I know is very strange, but never mind.

I jumped the gun and fixed it. The text editor thinks everything is a story and loses the stanzas. I did it in html, which retains the formatting. Elrond is one of my favorite characters, and this loss seemed a final crushing blow to his life in middle-earth. You have captured his anguish and her choice with such love and sadness. This is beautifully done.

This was lovely. The images were beautiful and painful. I thought about parents whose children, for some reason, looked especially vulnerable and how those parents worry about what will happen to their child after they are gone. And I can see how Elrond would feel that way about Arwen, who has made herself vulnerable to death.

That was powerful, beautiful. It reached down inside me and drew out what it wanted. Wow. Author Reply: There is nothing so satisfying as to know I struck a chord deep within. I spent several months crafting it, and it took everything it wanted out of me, too:-)
