What an interesting Pippin you write. Sweet one moment, blunt the next. I can see why Diamond is intrigued. Funny, that both seem clueless of the whispers going on. Good story!

I guess it works out if all the hobbits staying under one roof have some problem or another they are trying to over come! I did like how you had Merry wake up first thinking it was Pippin who was crying out. I'm glad that you have Estella and Diamond being good friends. Looking forward to finding out how these four settle in together! Author Reply: Thank you for the review! I can't imagine that having those four living together would ever equal a peaceful arrangement. Whether it's nightmares or pranks, there's always going to be something noisy happening! I think that since Merry and Pippin are so close, their wives would also have to be close - not necessarily before P&D's wedding, like I have, but certainly after! I'm really glad you're enjoying the story! :) I should have a new chapter out soon *fingers crossed* :P

What?!?! Where did my review go? I posted a review for this chapter when it was first posted! Gah! Stupid server! Anyway, for the most part, my review went a little something like this... I greatly enjoyed the slight fluff, and the angst was wonderful. Poor Diamond and Pip! Imagine having to dream about those things... Ugh! Still, they're too perfect for each other. You needn't worry about not making it as 'happy' as the last one. Oh, and I also like how one of Diamond's brother's names is Vigo... so close to dear Viggo! :) Sorry that was a bit choppy. I feel as if I'm forgetting something I commented on the last time... Ah, oh well! It was only praise. :D Author Reply: How annoying is it when that happens!? Thanks for coming back and trying again :P I don't have too much trouble writing angst (I used to write so much angsty stuff for another fandom), but I am glad that it went down well. I was only worried because I hadn't warned anyone, and thought that people who had read JTBWY might have been expecting it to be as happy as (the earlier chapters of) that one! Hehehehe, Vigo Took goes with Orlando Burrows (Pearl's husband). But in all honesty, the sources of those names were not actors (though I was certainly influenced into using them because of that!). I found both the names in my trusty copy of The History of Middle-Earth, which is where I find many of my OC names! (Btw, I think I'll put a little note about that in the next chapter, so thanks for reminding me :P) Thanks again! I always love to wallow in praise :D

It's so amusing that everyone thinks Pippin and Diamond are together. It seems they're the only ones -not- together in your stories...yet. But that won't last much longer ;) I like the contrast of Pip and Diamond having nightmares, which sounds horrible but storywise is great. Maybe they'll be able to share their understanding with each other. Don't worry about this story being not as light as the others. I bet it'll be great anyways :) Keep writing! Author Reply: The idea of the nightmares came to me as I was attempting to write this chapter. I'm so glad it did, because it made for a much better title than what I was originally working with (the original title for this chapter was "New House Mate", which just sounded so tacky and Big Brother-ish :P) This story was never going to be as light-hearted as the others (aside from "Time to Make a Change"), but Pip and Di just gave me another reason for it not to be.

Don't worry about using a different tone in this story. Your hobbits are growing up and facing things as they are. I think it is going quite well. I thought it was cute that Merry couldn't lie to Estella and Pippin, being Pippin, was so very blunt with Diamond! LOL Miss Diamond will have her hands full with that one, but she seems up to the task. Oh, and I'm not too worried that there won't be any humor or light moments, because I have always found those things in wonderful supply in your fiction. Looking forward to more. Author Reply: I'm glad you've noticed the "growing up" sort of theme. I just realised that's a main part of this story - the hobbits have grown up since JTBWY. Most of them are even starting their own families. You know, I got an annon review for JTBWY on ff.net saying how Merry and Pippin only married Estella and Diamond because they had to! I can understand that some people may think that, but there's no need to flame people who believe otherwise...sorry I had to vent that to you :P. Thanks for the review, and I'll try to update again soon (if uni allows it :P)

As worldly-wise as the hobbits have become through their travels, Pip still retains a little of the charming naivity. All the rumors and whispering behing hands, and he doesn't see it at all. Speculation on who would marry the son of the Thain, the Lordly Traveller and Hero of the Shire had to be the top subject of gossip around those parts. I'm sure he won't stay clueless forever. I wouldn't worry about making the story completely angst-free. A romance that was only sweetness and light wouldn't feel real, especially not for these hobbits. They've been through so much, as you said, and it's made them the great hearts that they are. It can't all be forgotten. But, though not all may be fluffy, I'll put in my request for romance! I've always though of Pip as very soft-hearted, and I am sure that any courtship of his would be loving and romantic, as well as fun. Author Reply: Thank you for your lovely review! The main reason I made that comment about the angst was because the prequel to this story was probably a bit more care-free - at least in the earlier chapters. And don't fear, there will be plenty of romance. Just Merry and Estella for now, but, like you said, Pippin can't stay clueless forever, and neither can Diamond for that matter. I hope you won't be disappointed :)

Pippin and Diamond have such a natural connection. Diamond's nightmares are perfectly understandable - I don't know if I'd ever sleep again with the memory of Pimple Baggins wanting to breed with me stuck in my head. Couldn't help but snicker at everyones assumption that Pippin and Diamond are a couple or soon to become one! Married people seem to adore matchmaking for unmarried friends. Author Reply: "the memory of Pimple Baggins wanting to breed with me"...lol! That is the most perfect way of explaining that whole situation! It would be a rather terrifying memory, and I'm still trying to work out how I will help Diamond overcome her fear of Bag-End (and all of Hobbiton!). I'm a bit young to have married friends, but my friends in relationships are constantly trying to set me up with guys! I certainly know how Diamond feels in this story. Thanks for the review :)
