When you said that the fluffiness was coming to an end, I never suspected you meant one of the twins would be stillborn! The title of Chapter 3 had better be "And Then There Were Four"; otherwise, you'll need to rename your story!! Ai! Poor Elrohir! I hope master healer and anxious father Elrond can save him. :( Author Reply: When I said angst, I *meant* angst! Have you been reading my notes for the next chapter?

This is not fair...is the baby really dead? Author Reply: Put it this way - it's not AU.

I sympathize with Celebrian's comment that the babies would be more trouble once they were born. Boy, is that the truth! I know you're not going to kill Elrohir, Jay, but how are you going to save him? Author Reply: You'll have to wait and see - I'm frantically writing the next chapter, because I can't bear to leave them all like that!

Aiee! That was not nice. Now you've got my Elrohir!muse beating up on me... I know this never helps, but please update soon. I love how you write the interaction between Elrond and Celebrian. I did wonder, however, why Glorfindel and Erestor could not hear that there were two melodies, not just one... Author Reply: Whoops! You caught me out there - umm ... maybe they were just not listening as carefully as Elrond and Celebrian? They are males, after all, and aren't so interested in babies!

EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK!! The story itself is beautifully told, but the angst is heartstopping. There have been numererous fics relating to the birth of the twins, and not one of them has the heartfelt angst and turmoil of yours. It was just assumed that the birth had no complications and I'm appreciating the twist of events! :) Author Reply: You know how I love angst, especially twin angst! So I started as I mean to go on. Poor Elrohir!

Well you've certainly got rid of the fluff. I know that both twins turn out okay, as they ride with Aragorn in RotK (unless you're being particularly nasty and tricking people into believing this follows canon when it's really an AU). I liked the idea of the mithril bracelets, a very nice way of making sure they can name them and tell them apart (much nicer than the horrible plastic id bracelets used in hospitals). I was re-reading chapter one and thought this was a nice sentence, and very true! She smiled, an unbelievably sweet, joyous smile. “Aye. Twins. Two sons. Our sons. My love, I think our lives will never be the same again!” Author Reply: No, it's not AU. You'll just have to wait and see how things resolve! The mithril bracelets are indeed the Middle Earth equivalent of hospital bracelets (and also based on a silver Christening bracelet I had as a baby).
