A New Reckoning  by Dreamflower 3 Review(s)
GryffinjackReviewed Chapter: Prologue on 12/29/2005
This is a very nice prologue introducing the theme of the story to follow. I very much look forward to reading this story again.

Oh, and terrific original writing in this prologue! Quoting the master will never steer you wrong! lol!

Author Reply: *chuckle*

I thought the easiest way to show the gap I was filling was--to show the gap I was filling, LOL!

Looking forward to reading this as a whole. I think I may have read a chapter or three, out of order, but I'm not sure I've read from beginning to end.

Isn't it fascinating, that the new year used to begin on March 25? I mean, in actual history?

Author Reply: Oh goody! I'm glad you are finding the time for it!

I think that JRRT used that fact himself when he set the dates for significant things to occur in Middle-earth.

Since I won't allow myself to read your Pippin and Diamond story before I finish mine (I already had designs on my P&D tale when you began posting yours), I decided to give "Road to Edoras" a whirl...then I read your prologue (yes, I read prologues!). You mentioned "A New Reckoning" happening previous to "Road to Edoras", so I thought, I don't care *how* lengthy it is, I would like to start at the "beginning", if you will. I mean, I've read "When the King Comes Back" (both versions), so I "reckon" that the next step is "A New Reckoning". :-) Hope your lunchtime is as enjoyable as mine! *raises sandwich in salute*

Author Reply: Absolutely, "A New Reckoning" takes up just a few months after "When the King Comes Back" (both versions) and everything in it leads to "The Road to Edoras".
I hope you enjoy it!!!
(And I am much enjoying your P&D, by the way--a very different take on things than mine!)
