The Touch of Sight  by LAXgirl 3 Review(s)

I'm really enjoying your story. I'm always looking for a good angsty Legolas story. I'm also a huge fan of Legolas and all the elves, actually, as if you couldn't tell by my name. I told my family I wanted an elf for Christmas, hence the name. Not sure how my husband felt about that, but, oh well, I didn't get one anyway. So, I just spend my free time reading about them. Sigh! I'm up to Chapter 10 and the story is great and well-written. I'm looking forward to continuing. When I first started reading I was a little worried Legolas was going to come out of his coma with evil powers. I'm glad that wasn't the case. I have a hard time with fan fics where Lego is evil. Keep up the great work but don't forget to study. That's the Mom in me talking. I'm constantly having to drag my 14 year old daughter off the computer to get her to do her homework. She's the one responsible for turning me on to LOTR and fan fic in the first place. Actually, I just kick her off so I can get on!

Ok, sorry I am late on reviewing this one. I am making myself review it before I read the next chapter!:) See, I knew it was Thranduil!;) I loved it when Legolas was able to accept his father's embrace without worrying about his new powers. Now we have to see how Thranduil reacts when he actually witnesses or experiences the effects of Legolas's power! I guess I should read the next chapter now! Here I go....

Excellent character development. Excellent story!

Just a few suggestions:

reins are used to control a horse. As a verb, you could say the horse
was reined in.

reign and reigns and reigned all refer to the time a King or Queen is
in power.

Sheer---1) almost transparent 2) unusual or exaggerated as in
the sheer audacity of a person.

Shear is only for cutting with a scissors (shearing sheep)

laid always goes with an object. That is, yesterday I laid the book down.
There are many books that have laid there.

lain is for people or animals. As in, I lie down, I lay down, and I have
lain there. Also I am lying there. (Kind of strange sentences, I know.)

Another thing I like about your story is, it is easy to follow. I don't get tripped up or slowed down by words or unclear paragraphs. Although, I must
admit I wouldn't mourn the loss of "gods" in future chapters. ^_^

Author Reply: Well thanks... i guess... I wasn't really aware that I had that bad of a grip on the English language... Thank you though for pointing those things out, though I already know most of those grammatical rules... I guess I was typing too fast when I was writing and didn't catch them. That happens a lot especially with some things like to, too, and two. I always try to check my work, but sometimes mistakes like those slip through. Thanks again for the review. Signing out -LAXgirl
