Family resemblances can be useful at least from time to time. Love Aragorn's mischievous side! Author Reply: I have a hard time wrapping my head around the way Elves must have seen time. Think of all the heirs of Isildur fostered in Elrond's house, leaving, growing old, and dying. The Elves saw them all as one family but they probably knew next to nothing about the ones 5 or 6 generations back.

Pippin looked surprised. Is this an adventure? he asked. I thought we were helping Frodo. Just great! Just right! Love that line! And ooooo . . . isn't Legolas quite the forceful man when the need arises . . . ' "Apologize," he said flatly.' Uh-huh! Let's all scramble to obey the young lord! Mmm, yes, quite the warrior. Absolutely delightful read. Author Reply: I've spent a long time writing stories that grow Legolas into this adult warrior. So it pleases me no end that you see him as strong and in command.

I like the differentiations you make between the Elves of Lasgalen and Rivendell. It does seem like Thranduil and his bunch would be more the rough-and-tumble type! Also, as someone who carries a knife everywhere, I can sympathize with them! Author Reply: Coriel-- You're being very generous to read all this. I don't really expect you to unless you're enjoying it. But I have to say the idea of wood elves spooking the more "civilized" elves of Rivendell tickled me. Thank you for taking the time to review.
