I decided to only review after reading this and It was a dark and Stormy... and so this review counts for both, so as not to cause any muddle. I stumbled across this quite by accident, and I've very pleased I did :) I can't believe you actually made Half-elven, half-Dwarven believeable, but you did. In the first fic, I love the conversation between Merry and Pippin and yourself, and it just seems to fit perfectly. My favourite bit in this fic is probably obvious: "I’ve even braided my Da’s hair and he said it was quite nice." Beryl only stopped because she needed to breathe. Faramir and Theodoc covered their mouths and shook with laughter at the memory of Pippin with a head full of mismatched braids. "He wore them all day long," Beryl continued with a happy smile. "We had company that night at dinner and he left them in, and I think some of the grownups were laughing at him, but Da didn’t seem to mind" Pippin sounds *exactly* like my own dad-he never minded when I did anything like this! Thankyou :) Author Reply: Thank you, EstellaB :) :) :) These two stories have hardly had any hits (compared to most of my stories) and Marigold said, when they were sent to her as Challenge stories, that she thought they were some of the funniest stories she had ever read, esp. "Dark and Stormy". They didn't even do well at the Challenge site. I think too many people feared a Mary Sue when they read the opening part, or didn't like Smirnen. I'm so glad you like him :) My daughter would do that with my hubby's hair and he would leave it in until she went to bed :) I'm so glad you read them and liked them. This response was a real boost to my day!!! Thank you so very much!!!!!

This is so sweet. I love the way he ends up with ribbons in his hair, being beaten by the hobbits so they get the cakes. Hobbits rule.
