Wonderful to see FRodo eased like that, and translating what Legolas and Pippin sang. And LOVE the honorary cousins and the typical Hobbit mischef! Author Reply: The image of Frodo with his head in his aunt's lap, and Legolas sitting next to him singing just popped into my head, and seemed so right! Of course, Pippin would join in when he arrived. *grin* *That* was a bit I had in mind from the very beginning: that Pippin would take his aunt's instructions to help Bergil lighten up and enjoy being a child quite literally. And Merry won't deny Pippin, and it would appeal to Legolas' own sense of mischief to be an accomplice! LOL!

LOL! Loved that kitchen scene between Pippin and Sam! Oh, gosh--and Pippin reiterating to Bergil about the tales he tells the hobbit-children! Too cute. Ah...the Hall is at peace. Lovely picture. See you tomorrow! Pippinfan Author Reply: I enjoy Pippin-Sam interaction, and we don't really see a lot of that, so I had fun with this one. I thought it would be funny, Pip telling him to tell about the feasts--Bergil doesn't realize just how fascinating that will be to his hobbity audience, LOL! I did want a kind of peaceful interlude. Things had been getting a bit hectic for a while.

I love how you placed this song in this piece. I love this story. keep writing. its very cool Author Reply: Thank you. I love the music in the movies, and I like to work the occasional reference to it into a basically book-verse story. I'm glad that you are enjoying this story. It is very fun to write.

I loved this! It made me laugh and it made me sad at points. Excellent writing and a wonderful prank from the cousins and their newest honorary relative. Love how Merry's mum took the whole thing in stride and was a bit amused. I suspect that she's missed that sort of thing. Author Reply: I would imagine so. Esmerelda is a Took, after all! I wonder what she and Paladin got up to as children? 8-)

Merry and Pippin strike again! I doubt that's what Esmeralda had in mind when she asked Pippin to help Bergil lighten up, but that's a pretty good way of doing it. Just good clean harmless kid fun. And don't you just love that Elvish.org site? Author Reply: Well, I couldn't think of a better way for them to initiate him as an honorary cousin! Yes, I do love that site. Since I do not speak or understand Elvish, I need a bit of help now and then. I can *write* it--as a calligrapher it's a wonderful challenge, but that's not much help in a story that needs some Elvish. Thank goodness for the internet. I loved the music from the films, and from time to time try to slip in a reference to it. (I don't think anyone caught it in "Conspiracy" when I had Pippin say he knew two tunes to "Upon the Hearth". And when I have Folco play the flute, I imagine the Shire theme from the first film. )
