Of course F can cook and sew. In days gone by, these were necessary skills for soldiers in the field. I have two questions. First, when you describe the necklace, do you have a particular type of stone in mind? Second, have you thought through all the "rules" for mind linking? It sounds as if it could be a complicated concept and internal consistancy generally makes for a better story. On the whole, long and very satisfying chapter. It was well worth waiting for! However, we are all still waiting for the stuff to hit the fan. Why else would you be running the two plot lines parallel to each other? Author Reply: I meant cooking, REAL cooking--not just stews or roasts or something soldiery. Same for sewing. Poor guy, he's read a lot of books and he ran out of manly things to learn. ;) Yes, I did, unfortunately I forgot this second, but I did have a paticular stone in mind dammit. One of those things, if you hadn't have asked... ;) Stuff hits the fan in this chapter--maybe not what your're expecting, but I thought it made for some good entertainment now and in the future. Aragorn and Eowyn have a fairly good relationship in this story (I'm talking future chapters as well as past ones) and it needs to be built so.....visit the next chapter. :) Author Reply: The stone is Azurite. It was considered the most potent of psychic stones and the secret of using Azurite was known only to priests. So secret in fact, that this knowledge is now lost. It is thought to improve all psychic abilities, increase the ability to achieve trances and help bring on prophetic dreams. Natural Healers use Azurite to help chronic worriers. It is also said to improve creativity and help reach meditative calm. Healing Properties: Thought to reduce stress, especially worry, panic attacks. So, obviously I had Eowyn in mind when I chose this. I've seen jewelry--its a pretty, low-key stone that wouldn't call people's attention and make her uncomfortable. I wanted it to be something deeply connected to Faramir (i.e. his mother via Boromir) and unique, so I chose the dolphin. Also, dolphins represent emotions, psychic powers, intuition, dreams, the power of faith. So, double-threat! Eowyn's not going to be able to fight quite so hard. ;) Also, you're question about the "mind-rules". First and foremost, Faramir controls everything. The amount of attention he's giving his abilities really determines the depth of their "link". Basically, he can allow her to enter his mind, (unconsciously aiding her) and he can read her at will. Eowyn only feels/hears what he gives her. (I see it as an extension of retrieving your own memories--you think it, it's there) However, the necklace (with all the multi-fold psychic abilities) helps. I hope that wasn't confusing, but that is how I see it. :)

They've got HOW MANY months to go before they get married? These frisky kids are not going to make it to the altar with Eowyn's maidenhood intact if they keep fumbling around under and over the covers. And why do I think that Eomer might decide to visit his sister after he drags Aragorn home from the bar? Keep updating! Author Reply: Hey, they can do lots of stuff and Eowyn still be a virgin you know...hint, hint, wink, wink. Why would Eomer want to visit? It's late and as far as he knows she's still mad at him--but, hey, he's not alone is he? ;) Read the next chapter.

Thank goodness it was a necklace! You are terrible, you know? Hmmm, drawing....We're not going to have a scene a la Titanic, are we? Please make a note to Rikki that Eowyn would *not* have to worry about recieving abuse from Rohirric men (Grima excluded). The great thing about the Rohirrim is that they are honest and honorable men. :) I wonder if Eomer would really have been put off by pipeweed. I mean, Theoden smoked. At least we can presume he did, from his promise to Merry. Author Reply: LOL--we're really only a bigass boat and an iceberg away are we? Alas, no, he's just getting inspired. There will be drawings later aplenty though. Eomer's just doesn't want to seem like an idiot--he's never done it, you know the feeling.

Oh my goodness! I think I'm getting as frustrated as Faramir. I hope Eowyn gives the poor man a proper snog really soon. I liked the description of Finduilas. Perhaps they can go to the sea for the honeymoon? Loving the story. I hope there's more soon. Author Reply: I've thought of the sea, maybe I can get them there, but it's a damn long way--at least the distance between Gondor and Edoras, so that's roughly 350 miles to the nearest coastline. LOL, I don't know about the snogging yet.

Lol! The last exchange between Faramir and Eowyn was great! Aragorn's fight amused me, as did Eomer's thoughts of self preservation. Two kings in a tavern brawl. This is great! Author Reply: Thanks. I picture Eomer as very practical when it comes to himself-- but not so with his sister. I think the next chapter between F/E gets funnier.

I have been reading your story from the beginning and really enjoying it and not leaving feedback. Bad me. This chapter has got to be my favorite so far. Eomer and Aragorn in the tavern with Eomer more worried about his broken nose as he steps in to take care of one of the blacksmiths tag teaming Aragorn in the fight was hilarious. Your Aragorn and Eomer are so what I would imagine them to be. I can just see them sitting there drinking ale and badgering each other on. I have a feeling that you are going to have Aragorn get his own back with getting Eomer to smoke the pipe. If Eomer has never smoked before, especially Smokeweed, I have a feeling he is going to be horribly sick. I find it interesting that you are calling Aragorn that instead of Ellesar. It shows him as being still the Dunedian while he is out pub crawling with Eomer rather than being a king out drinking. Faramir and Eowyn. What can I say? This is the slowest dance of love I have ever read, but in its way, I can understand Eowyn's hesitation. Pursued and fighting off abuse from Grima and other Rohirn soldiers must have been very frightening when Theoden was out in la-la land and Theored dead and Eomer banished. She was such a political prize what with her being the niece of the king and the only one left to inherit. Faramir is truly being a saint about courting her in such a gentle manner, though I also think he has a lot of ghosts in his closet also. In a way they are both healing each other. But oh, if Eomer comes back while Faramir is still in bed with Eowyn! Talk about fireworks! Author Reply: Fireworks indeed, but not yet. Instead, something a little more embarrassing. :)

Oh my! Aragorn in a brawl! Did quite well considering it was his first =) Can't wait to see Eomer on pipe-weed! Looking forward to more chapters soon!
