| LOL--I think(!) Where would I look to find the background to make this amusing little snippet more comprehendable? Author Reply: I wondered if I hadn't pared away too much on that one, but the joke didn't seem like enough to support anything much longer. That one came out of a couple of lines in Unfinished Tales (in "The History of Galadriel and Celeborn") where Fëanor asked repeatedly for a strand of Galadriel's hair, which she always refused him. Somebody on another site wondered what would happen if Fëanor had somehow managed to get himself released from Mandos before Gimli showed up with his little souvenir of Lothlórien, and this is what I came up with. | |
