So funny about the stitches and the rope ... I never would have thought of that! :-) Good story, a lot of interesting speculation and of course hobbit fluff (and Elf fluff too)... Thanks for writing, I enjoyed it! Author Reply: Thank you so much! I wanted to give everyone in the story a chance to shine, even usually-neglected Celeborn.

ahhh you've done it again--darker than usual, yes, but that's fine! There were still some lovely spots of light shining through it. Could hardly "put this one down"--except it seemed none of my friends would let me read it in peace, LOL...so it took me two days to get through it! More, more, more! your fans are greedy *ggggggg* best regards, Armariel Author Reply: Eeek, I'd better write faster. I can't having you running out! I'm so happy you're enjoying all these stories! *hugs you for being so wonderfully greedy and sweet*

It’s hard for Pip to stay still for long, but he’s nobody’s fool. - shirebound Thank you, shirebound!! That's Pippin in a nutshell. What a wonderful end to a fantastic story! You know me--Janie-come-lately, but it was well worth the wait. Thank you for sharing your imagination! :-) Pippinfan Author Reply: Oh, I love how you quoted that line! And thank you for enjoying this story so much. I had no idea I would be able to squeeze so much hobbityness into what threatened to be a somewhat dark tale. Hobbits... gotta love 'em! :)

A perfect ending to a lovely story!:) The one part I REALLY liked in this chapter was when Elrond is telling Frodo that he will send him a message when he is leaving for the Havens. That one sentance... "It will not be a message of parchment, but from mind to mind." was so perfect! It brought everything back together, and made so much sense!:) I mean, how DID Frodo know the exact time to meet the elves in the forest with Sam?;) Thank you again for sharing your story with us. I have really enjoyed it, and I hope you will be inspired to write something else soon!;) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal Author Reply: I agree, how DID Frodo know?? It's fun to explain things (knowing that other authors will explain them quite differently!) -- it gives me the feeling of making a contribution to Prof. Tolkien's story, which is very humbling and exciting. Thank you for your lovely words. What a joy to share these stories.

I must admit I wasn't ready for ths story to end QUITE yet, but still it is a hobbity ending, which is always good. You have answered so many questions for me. THANK YOU! I have always wondered why Frodo was able to speak to Galadriel in her head, but I haven't read much of the Silmarillion and I have ALWAYS wondered why Elrond never voluteered to take the Ring, especially after I realized that he had a Ring of Power himself. But now the brilliant Shirebound has answered my questions, I don't even want to consider how long it took you to figure it all out. You obviously have too much time on your hands, which gives me that much more. *Hugs you, sqeezes you - TIGHTLY.* Shirebound suffocating: "Um, Arwen, that's enough. NEEED - TO - BREATHE!!!!" Okay, lets go, you get the idea. Thanks again! You are going to take the suggestion that Gayalondiel and I had, right? The one about when Gandalf was a patient for Galadriel and Celeborn. Tell you what, when you start your non-Hobbit story, then I'll start mine: The Blessing of Mortality. I know you'll finish first, but we can still start out on the same note. Author Reply: Thanks, Arwen! It was fun and very interesting trying to "fill in the blanks" and answer some questions that Prof. Tolkien left for us. Different fanfic authors will answer them in different ways, of course. I can't promise that the Gandalf-Celeborn muse will seek me out, but one never knows what future stories will demand to be told... :)

I loved Elladan/Frodo and Celeborn/Pippin. This was a really enjoyable, believable story, where everyone behaved according to their character. I liked the hobbits, but also the way the elves dealt with others in a - for the want of a better word - human and caring way. Author Reply: I'm so glad this was believable, especially since there were so many characters to juggle and unusual concepts to explore. Thank you so much.

Hey there! Sorry it's been so long since I let ya know I was around, end of the semester and all that. Another job well done! I enjoyed this story a great deal. It cheered me up quite frequently. I would often be having a bad day, come to my email, and low and behold find an update that never failed to make me smile. I loved the ending with the four Hobbits talking in bed. I must admit that the moments where the Hobbits are talking with each other and joking around are my favorites. Never fails to bring a smile to my face. :) See? Just thinking about it did it. I enjoyed your portrayal of the Elves as well, particularly Elladan and Elrohir. You should write Elves more often (any Elves, ;)) Thanks again for a great story. I'm hopeing to get back to my own now that summer is in full swing. I'm looking forward to what you come up with next. Talk to ya soon! -LM Author Reply: Thanks, LM, and happy End-of-Semester! I'm glad to hear that my story helped cheer you up when you needed it. This was such fun to write, and a real adventure for me.

So glad to see this one complete! An absolutely riveting story from start to finish. I loved your concept of Saruman wishing to forge a new Ring, and that Frodo had become sensitive enough to communicate with the Wise. You did a superb job in keeping all our lovely hobbits in character, and though you had them in danger, you didn't torture them just for the sake of angst, which I for one appreciate. Everything that happened pushed the plot forward. I especially loved your characterization of Pippin, and his bravery. And I loved the interaction of Elrond and his sons. Having Celeborn and Galadriel as major characters was very nice. They usually don't play much of an active role in most fanfic. The only thing is, I wish you could have left Saruman's and Grima's "mute buttons" turned on. I know! I know! That would have made it AU--but it's a nice thought anyway--Saruman wouldn't have got very far in the Shire without his Voice, would he? LOL! Actually, I do appreciate that you went ahead and returned to canon--but wasn't it tempting? Author Reply: Thank you so much! There was so much I wanted to say in this story, I was afraid it would get too complex and muddled. Hee hee. A *lot* was tempting when it came to Saruman and Grima -- this story could have gone in a lot of different directions. Maybe someone else will write one of the other directions! I'm so happy you enjoyed this story. What a joy to have a place to share it.
