| How long exactly is the hobbit gestation period? Lilas is about 3 1/2 months along, and you're saying the baby is due in 3 months. If her swelling tummy is barely noticable at this point, it doesn't seem like only 3 more months would be long enough. "Pippin's fever had broke the other day..." That should be *broken*, not *broke*. Love the little moments between Pippin and Lilas. Very cute. Author Reply: Oy, that was my slip--I'll fix "broke" to "broken". Lilas is a week shy of her fourth month. I probably should've put the pregnancy note in my summary, but at that point I felt I would be giving away more than I needed to. Mysterious Ways and Pearl Took came up with a guideline a long time ago charting a hobbit lass's pregnancy--at 7 months. They figured the smaller the creature, the quicker the gestation period. It seemed plausible to me, so I asked if I could use it for Roses. I tip my hat to your keeping track of time! I've made a Shire/Bree Calendar that I've been using to keep track of her pregnancy. I'd be happy to send it to anyone who wants a copy--very user friendly. It's done in blocks like our modern day calendars so that you can write events and such in them. | How sweet of all of Pippin's friends to be there! And the little moments between Lilas and Pippin are getting sweeter with every chapter. Hehehehe, aren't the fathers always so sure their wife is going to have a lad (though I think in my case, my father was hoping for a girl. Too many lads in his family!).
