| As long as Legolas's partner has chestnut hair and Elrohir's the looks of one of the Galadhrim I think this dance would be enjoyable. Author Reply: You think so? I suspect you might be right! | ‘But it will not be the same,’ he replied, his voice no more than a pained whisper. ‘It will be better,’ Elrohir insisted. ‘Love is one thing that is better shared.’ I just found your stories yesterday and have been reading through them as time permits. You have a lovely, lyrical style that is easy to read, yet every now and then you slip something like this in that is just beautiful. The weary boredom at the beginning, wondering what they'll do in this perfect paradise, then the realisation that they're targets for mums and daughters, to this, where they have found and won (or tying to, in Legolas' case) is fun. You sound as if you're very familiar with the young male *g* This could easily be my brothers talking! My only sorrow is how quickly the tale is going by, but it seems you have a lot of tales to tell and that is a very good thing I think! :) Author Reply: Thank you - and an added pleasure to having you find this is that I had to read it again to remember which one it was! Elladan and Elrohir - and their grandfather - were very worn when they arrived in the Blessed Realm, but they are resilient. There are other stories about Elladan and Miriwen. Awaiting the Thaw is one - and I can't remember off-hand where else their relationship is discussed. Here, probably. Young males - well the Secondborn is 22 and the Aftercomer 20 - so I have been exposed to their mindset for a while! I'm pleased you are liking them. This world is becoming increasingly complex as time goes on. The Paradise of Elves was my very first story - and it has grown rather - and I've loved every step of the way! I hope you continue to enjoy. | |

| They grow up so soon! They were just little elflings a few thousand years ago, and now look at this - Elladan is married and Elrohir soon to be, I think, and even Thranduil will get over himself so Legolas can slay fake dragons and not real ones. Ah, I am content. The bachelors of middle-earth have found true love. I must go check on Glorfindel. I hope he realizes he can set aside watching over them now and find a nice Vanya elleth for himself :D Author Reply: The sweet little mites! At least it will give them something to do now there is an orc and spider shortage. And protect them from lustful ellyth. Though married life could prove rather more complicated than they would hope. Yes, Glorfindel should find someone to take his mind off the Balrog. And Erestor. And Haldir. After all - all those ellyth who have been waiting patiently in the Blessed Realm are entitled to their fun! | |

| Well, Elladan is happy and Elrohir looks as if he could be made so, but Legolas is still struggling. I suppose that even in paradise there are still problems, especially if you put families together. Author Reply: Consider the families! Strong-willed doesn't begin to cover it. At least, as elves, they do have plenty of time - there is no need to win over your family quickly, they can spend centuries on the project. (Not that they will.) And perceptions of paradise must vary considerably, depending on who is looking to be made happy. I cannot imagine that it would mean the same thing even to fairly sensible elves like Elrond and Thranduil, let alone elves like Oropher and the sons of Feanor. There must be a need for compromise. In fact, there would probably be huge problems between elves just arriving and those who have always been there. (We just don't do things that way here.) (Immigrants! They come here; take over our streets, get all the best jobs, marry our womenfolk. . .) (It's not that I have anything against you personally, but you can't trust these new arrivals, especially those Silvan elves - they are just not like us.) | |

| I love Thranduil's description of Galadriel! I think he could be right, too. I like Elrohir and Legolas both talking about their loves - I think everything will work out, and they will be very happy. But despite his words, I think Elrohir will miss Elladan at first. I do hope that Elladan's selected partners are the two I hope they are! Jay Author Reply: Yes, they are. Elladan has been moving around in a bit of a haze, but he's not completely lost the plot. Elrohir will miss his brother terribly. It doesn't matter how physically close they will still be, the relationship will inevitably change. It will take Elladan some time to adjust, I would think, but, as the one moving on, it will be easier for him than for Elrohir. But he could hardly express his doubts, could he? He had to be the brave little soldier for his brother. At least he is in love, which will give him something else to think about. I can remember several times, when life-changing events were about to happen - marriage, birth of first child and so on) - when I would have like to stop time, but you can't and the path of life shifts. This is one of their life-changing moments. I like Galadriel, too. She might be a bit scary, but, despite the fact that elves are supposed to be a bit more egalitarian, she is still a woman in a man's world, and the only way to do that is to be ten times stronger than your colleagues. I think Thranduil finds that very threatening. | |

| oo,oo, oo, jumps up and down in the seat of her chair, no! I want to meet the blessed girl, all that description and we still havn't met her. oo, oo. Soon, please for the sake of the upholstery, update! Rose Author Reply: Huge apologies. The bad news is - they will probably get all the way to grandelflings and you never will meet her. The good news is - you can make of her what you want. Maybe another tale will bring her in as a real life (imaginary) elleth, but I am afraid the only intended participants in these conversations are Elladan, Elrohir and Legolas. Everything is seen through their eyes and heard from their mouths as they spend quality boy time together. The ellyth don't even have names. Yet. | |
