The first thing that popped into my mind was that Legolas had seen Gollum. Not highly likely, butb there we are. I like this story, it's very interesting. :)

Author Reply: Gollum? I don't think that's possible with the time lines. Interesting theory, though! Thanks for the review.

I think you like to pick on Elrohir. First you give him a leg injury, then in the last chapter you drugged him into paralysis, now in this chapter you say he once hallucinated purple cats! Just what did the poor elf ever do to you that you pick on him so? ;)

So Legolas is confined to bed for a week, eh? Why do I suspect he won't stay there the entire time unless someone monitors him 24/7? I'm glad the healers are convinced the he will live. It was pretty touch and go there for a while. I was worried.

Legolas wasn't the only convinced there was something down in that cave. You had me convinced as well. Good surprise twist, Jay.

Author Reply: The healers were worried, too. And Legolas is *still* convinced there was something in the cave (there wasn't).

Poor Elrohir - reading your list of what I've done to him you'd never guess he's my favourite twin! Have I given him a leg injury yet? I can't remember.

Glad you liked the twist!

Thranduil was mellowing - at one point he would have had to be drugged to make him sleep.

He wouldn't be growing accustomed to his elfling putting him through the torment of endless injuries, now would he? Poor Legolas - he won't find being confined to bed a great deal of fun, but I hope he has the sense to listen to his healers.

They are a very brave bunch of elflings, but too modest. Elrohir fails to mention his dislocated arm until after Legolas has been rescued and Arwen ignores her attempt to put her body between her friend and a bunch of rocks. I seem to recall 'on the point of unconsciousness' Legolas simultaneously trying to protect her from falling rocks by shielding her head.

Would Legolas be showing prophetic signs here by seeing nasties in caves? It is not surprising he is not fond of being underground. Too many bad experiences.

Author Reply: Prophetic signs - I never thought about that! Quick, catch that plot bunny ...

Poor Legolas is going to go mad, confined to bed - but he's sensible, and if he said he won't get up, he won't. Legolas did indeed try to protect Arwen in turn - and I'm quite sure she'll drop that into a conversation with Thranduil at some time!

Shiver... I hate caves.. And even Legolas memory of it had chills up and down my back... But I am glad that Legolas is getting better as are the Twins and Arwen:-) I hope you post soon!

Author Reply: Legolas hates caves as well now. He's getting better, slowly, but still has a few problems.

Glad to see Legolas well on the way to recovery now. And Arwen was very brave, even if she did not tell Elrond what happened!

I like Calmacil - he comes across as a very concerned and caring healer.

Author Reply: He is getting better now, but still has some problems, as you can see! You're right about Calmacil - he's a very competent healer, and wishes people didn't keep asking me to let Elrond treat Legolas!

Elrond must have mixed feelings really. His daughter was brave and he must be proud of that, but she was also in real danger and put herself in even more, and that must frighten him. Legolas appears to be having a difficult time being sure of what happened. That must be disturbing too.

Author Reply: First Thranduil thought his son could die, now he thinks he's cracking up. It's not easy being father of an elfling! Arwen knew it was dangerous, which is why she didn't want to tell Elrond.

Ah, relieved sigh. He recovers, albeit slowly. Must be even harder to recouperate slowly when you are so used to doing it quickly! Poor baby doubting his mind now, creepy eyes in the dark - yuk.
Much enjoying this

Author Reply: Poor Legolas. It seemed so real, he can't quite believe there was nothing there.

But was it really a hallucination? Great chapter! :-)

Author Reply: Yes, it really was a hallucination. Poor Legolas can't tell fantasy from reality at the moment.
