WOOOOOOW!!!!what a great story! When I saw "The End" I almost DIE of sadness. But it was one of the best stories that I ever have read before. Congratulations! I am going to allow you in my favourites authors.
Bye! Write more stories!
(I hope you to understand this because I don't speak English very well)

Author Reply: Thank you! I think you write English *very* well, far better than I could in another language :(

I love writing, and have written more stories, I hope you like them as well! I'm glad you liked this.

I am so glad that Legolas and Thranduil finally saw each other alive and well! How sad, the trip through a grieving forest and Legolas' growing fear that something was terribly wrong...his grief in the throne room where he looked at the crown and just kind of collapsed with grief, thinking of his father...the joyful reunion *much sniffing and sobbing*...the little discussion with Nifael *g - yes, my L- Legolas*...and the alliterations for the party! *grins and giggles* Too short, Jay, much too short, but a satisfying ending for all concerned! :-)

Author Reply: Thank you. Yes, there was sadness and sorrow, angst and anguish, but at the end harmony and happiness! I felt sure that the forest would grieve too, if Thranduil told the trees that Legolas was dead. And 'he is dead' is sufficiently vague to be misunderstood.

YAY!! All's well again!! :-) I really do love this story.... I'm glad neither Legolas nor Thranduil is dead! I couldn't take either....

Thank you for this wonderful story, and for all the stories you write. They make my day!!

Author Reply: Well, despite a blip in 'To The Ends Of Middle Earth', I can't kill them off permanently any more. I've come to love both Legolas and Thranduil far too much, and besides, it wouldn't be canon.

I'm so glad you enjoy my stories!

Oh Jay that was wonderful. Thank you for a great story with tension right up to the end.
We leave them to their dancing and dorwininan.
Great stuff
Rose

Author Reply: The tension and angst are what I like to write best - but I'm soft hearted as well, so love a happy ending!

Thank you for the review.

Resolution - ahhh. Thranduil and Legolas are so close, it is hard to see how Legolas can have chosen to go off to Ithilien and leave his father - although I suppose if you are immortal a few years don't matter much and there is no bar on travelling back and forth.

Irony at the end - will never want to leave again, but we know better.

At least he stands a chance of getting Nifael to stop calling him 'my lord'. I am glad the Man got to see the elves being happy.

Author Reply: I like to think that Legolas and Thranduil did visit each other - after all, Legolas ruled Ithilien for 120 years, which gives enough time even for an immortal.

The irony at the end was added to the original intentionally - the sea longing meant he was never really happy anywhere.

Have I mentioned I love the way you write Legolas and the twins?

I must say that I still laugh a little and tear up a little at the end:-) The misunderstanding, while a terrible thing, is rather funny:-) "I thought you were dead!" lol..... I had to laugh:-) Glad to read this again and read the various changes:-) I loved it the first time I read it, and love it even more after the fifth or sixth time now:-) Great job!

Author Reply: I'm particularly glad that you took the time to review when you'd already read the story before. I hope you like the changes - I think it makes the story better, and makes better links with my other fics. It's supposed to be angsty, but I can see the funny side!

Shades of Mid Winter Gifts there, with each thinking the other dead. Nice angst, but it was a great relief when Thranduil saw Legolas at last. :-) Great story, Jay.

Author Reply: In Mid Winter Gifts, each thought the other *might* be dead. In this story, they were both certain. You may have noticed, I like angst ...

Thanks for the review!

Some horrible moments for everyone there! I liked the detail that the forest was mourning too, and Legolas's realization that he was now king. Well, he would have been, but he wasn't. You understand.

Author Reply: I think that both Legolas and Thranduil have a connection with the forest, although Thranduil's is stronger. I think that if Legolas did become king, his link would become equally strong.
