Oh, ho! This is a good start to what has all the makings of a great adventure! Legolas on his own... Oh, dear, there's no telling what mischief the youngster will get into out from under the stern, parental eye of his father. How old would the elfling be(in human years) in this story? I'm thinking about 9 or 10? Is that a good guess? Our poor little prince - so "sheltered" and "guarded" and denied freedom from all the restraining fetters of his life Maybe it is time for him to find out what he is "sheltered" and "guarded" from, no? Oh, this is going to be some kind of fun for all involved (well, maybe not for Thranduil). I'm already hooked on this story, so don't you dare stop here. And I hope you update frequently, cause I'm ready for more! Bring it on! Author Reply: What an enthusiastic review! Thank you very much. I would place the elfling around 11 or 12 in human years. I would have liked to place him at what you have guessed (9/10) but found that I was making him much more articulate than a 9 or 10 year could ever be, so I have a 11/12 year old elfling in mind as I write. I am glad you are hooked on the story - makes me feel like I've accomplished something here. I usually update at least once a week, if not more. As a reader of these stories, I get impatient too for updates so I know how you feel. Again thanks for reading and reviewing.

Someone is going to be getting into trouble! Adar, will not be pleased at all. LOL, I am always well behaved... ;) Author Reply: I guess one must remember the term "well behaved" has a different meaning for this elf than for everybody else. You are right, Adar will not be pleased. Good to hear from you and thanks for the review!

*does double backflip with three full turns* Woo Hoo! New story, new story! Yay! :) And one with Salque in it! We get to see a little more of that brave, selfless warrior! Yee haw! :D Can you tell I'm happy? LOL Poor Leggy, with Salque gone, his days will be dreary indeed! Thranduil is always so busy, though it's no fault of his own. Duty calls and the kingdom must come first. A little sad, but, that's the way of the world, at least for royalty. I hope Aldeon does take care of Leggy while Salque is gone. Leggy interacting with his brothers is always my favorite kind of story. And of all his brothers, Legoas seems so much closer to Aldeon. *sigh* "Tavaro says that all you have to do is nod and look sympathetic when you listen to the petitioners, and then they will go away happy." When Leggy said this, I hooted with laughter! I could just see the surprised look on Thranduil's face and whew, I would not have wanted to see what Tavaro's face would have looked like! LOL That was hilarious. Then when Thranduil uttered this... "It will all depend on how well I nod and look sympathetic when I listen to the petitioners." OMG...I was rolling on the floor after that line! So perfect! Uh oh, and what's this...Leggy is going riding alone? *groan* I bet he finds trouble! I'm glad at least one of the guards is going after him. Perhaps he will find Legolas before trouble finds him! LOL And I sure don't want to be *anywhere* near Thranduil when he finds out what Legols did! Well, I can't wait for the next chappy from you! Yay, I have another story from you to follow! You just made my night! ;) Hurry with the next chappy please! Author Reply: It is so nice to hear from you again. Your reviews are always such a pleasure to read, and this one is no different. Yes, Legolas is off to another adventure, but as I have mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, this story will be quite light so I don't think he is going to get into anything too dangerous, but then one never knows with this elf. There will be plenty of brotherly interaction in this story, but with Tavaro. I figure I'll save Aldeon for another story. So glad to be communicating with you again and many thanks for your enthusiastic review.

Ah, an impetuous elfling...and a prince, too!...enough to turn even one of the immortal Firstborn gray! :D Can't imagine why Salque was ready for a vacation! I love stories about Legolas growing up and this one is great, so far! Poor bored princeling...and Hwesta aiding and abetting his bid for freedom! Adar King better hurry with the diversions...he's already two steps behind his son! (Loved those poor guards "I'm not ready for the Halls of Mandos..." *g*). Wonderful beginning - I'm off to read your other stories!!!!!! :-) linda Author Reply: Immortality certainly has a whole new meaning when one is stuck with a child like Legolas. I think Thranduil has probably used up all his patience with this one child and is therefore impatient with everybody else. Hopefully this Legolas won't come across too bratty (and maybe even likable?). Thank you very much for reading and reviewing. P.S. My other stories are not quite as light-hearted.

What a troublesome little elf Legolas is! Well, he doesn't mean to be troublesome, but kids that age tend to be anyway. I enjoyed this chapter of Legolas' life in Mirkwood. I've only read a couple good ones involving pre LOTR Legolas, and this seems to be one of them. I would have liked to have had a OC list so that I understood who the characters were, but I believe I've figured them out. I enjoyed this. Keep it coming. -Frodo Author Reply: Thank you for your review! Legolas is quite the handful, but hopefully not so bad that one would want smack him around. I had assumed that most readers who would click on this story of mine would be ones who had already read my previous two and would therefore be familiar with the OCs (rather presumptuous of me, I guess) so I apologize for not listing them. I will do so the next chapter, but here's a list for you: Salque - Legolas' "bodyguard" Aldeon - Legolas' oldest brother Feren - Legolas' second brother Tavaro - Legolas' third brother These are the main ones. Other OCs who appear in this story will be self-explanatory. Again, thank you for reading and reviewing.
