The Steward's Coup  by Shireling 4 Review(s)
LisaGReviewed Chapter: 5 on 7/11/2010
Great story so far, but it upsets me that Faramir is helping the Gondorian veterans behind Aragorn's back...he's not even trying to find out if what Lireal said is true. And even if it was, since Aragorn is so new to running a kingdom, he probably doesn't know all that goes on around him...it's impossible to be involved in everything and at every level. I just bet there's someone making up these rules without Aragorn's knowledge or permission and if the king ever found out, he'd be appalled and angry. I hope Faramir's plan doesn't backfire on him...I would imagine Aragorn would be deeply hurt that his own Steward didn't trust him enough to even discuss the situation, let alone trying to solve it without his knowledge. :(

Poor Faramir. I'm sure Aragorn will feel even more awful than he already does when he learns the whole story!

Faramir's "punishment" for Legolas' inconsiderate jest was quite original ... and effective;) I am glad that Faramir has found new friends in the Elf and Dwarf, as he seems to be rather isolated in Minas Tirith. I wonder how long it will take until friends become allies.

A fitting "punishment" indeed! I'm seriously liking this.
