That Merry is so clever. I love the way he presented the gift to the bride. I also enjoyed the fact that Estella knew what Merry was thinking and her reference to your other story when Merry fell asleep on her while drunk. Very nice chapter.

I guess it would be strange for the occupants of crickhollow to be one short! It is amusing that no one really wanted to attend the wedding, I guess folk get it in their minds that certain people are getting married and they don't like it when that changes! Looking forward to finding out what Pippin does on his little trip! Author Reply: Pippin is also the type of presence that you would notice was missing! Hehehe, once I started writing about people not wanting to attend the wedding, I couldn't stop. There were probably more guests that did not want to be there than guests that did! Well, Celandine is out of the picture now, leaving Pippin for Diamond :P - Pervinca

Yay, so good! Was beginning to think you had forgotten us!!! I love the story! It's so cool! Keep on writing! It's so good. I've got a new story out, Whispers through the night. Got lots of Hobbits in... Love Rosy Author Reply: I hadn't forgotten. It took me a little longer on this one because I was writing it at the same time as Chapter 8, and I couldn't decide which one I wanted to post first! They swapped positions at least three times before I decided to post "Living Without Pippin" first! - Pervinca

Another lovely chapter. While there may be tension over Celandine's marriage now; I think it best for the long term. And although Pippin's absense was felt, his presence would have been far too awkward. Poor Diamond, I think she needed to get away to Long Cleeve as much as Pippin needed to put distance between him and the Shire. Somethings people only appreciate the value of another when they are separated; my parents figured out they loved each other in that way, so I hold great hope that Pippin and Diamond will have similiar revellations while apart. Author Reply: I did consider having Diamond attend the wedding, but then decided against it. After all, it was more than likely that she would have ended up doing something *she* would regret. Plus, I was sure her brothers would have been missing her. Pippin and Diamond are both to stubborn for their own good, and that's part of the reason that they aren't yet together, but I have plans for them yet. Thanks for reading :) - Pervinca
