LOL...Merry had a tough little bird on his hands!! :-) I really am enjoying your viewpoint on Pippin and Estella's initial relationship. I've thought about it from time to time, but I've not really written a *canon* story surrounding them--and probably won't for a long while, so I've not explored it. Very nice! Pippinfan Author Reply: I believe that eventually they became very close, but I think the beginning must have been a bit rough on both of them. I don't think Merry would have been happy with a quiet, easy-going lass and so I write Estella with a strong will of her own. Can't wait to see what you decide to do with them when you get around to it. | |

I loved how Frodo had to talk Estella into helping and then Pippin didn't want anything to do with dancing with Merry's lass- Great Chapter! Author Reply: These two are a bit jealous of each other just now, but I think that they will work it out. Match-making is a dangerous business and Frodo and Estella may be in over their heads. | Poor clueless Pippin! That's what happens when friends try to help out your love-life, isn't it! You have a bit of a prickly relationship between Pip and Estella, makes for some nice tension. And now I've come to the end, and no more chapters, *sigh..* (Reminding myself why I don't often read WIPs--oh well, you don't seem to keep folks hanging too long. Please update soon, I want to see how the Springle-ring goes. Author Reply: Just updated with a new chapter. Seems that Frodo and Estella are having their troubles with their match-making efforts. I wrote a challenge story for Marigold called "The Ramblings of Peregrin Took" and that was where my view of the Estella and Pippin relationship began. I thought that Pippin would be less than happy to be sharing Merry's time and so might Estella. Two hobbits that might have gotten along under other conditions, might be at odds over jealousy. They are both devoted to Merry and Merry is caught in the middle for a time. | |
