Very good continuation. How sad when you think of the story you have put together for this woman--a orphaned child, lost her mother in in childbirth, only firends, her cats; a loveless marriage ending in exile, her only companions, the same cats; and then in Erased (sequel or not--they're your stories but I can't help but see it as one) the poor woman dies and the white cat is still with her, claiming revenge. I love the way you have filled in this minor character. I know I keep saying this, but it is very powerful. It is amazing to me that your first language isn't english. I'm bilingual but you can tell. I don't get all my words right and I mess up a lot of prepositions. Your english seems flawless to me. I love your stories. Author Reply: Hi again, Elliska. Thank you for your kind words. I try not to let people know that my primary language is not English, because this earned me some hurtful comments in the past. It makes me happy when people like you comment on my writing. Occasional typos always manage to creep in, and I'm not above grammar mistakes but, again, only cats are perfect. ;) This story is the most personal in my story list. Because, in a way, I *am* Beruthiel in this one, or at least I'll be like her in the near future. My neiborhood is much like the docks of Umbar in this story and I have a soft spot for the stray cats. *sigh* At least I've not lost my 'marbles' yet... Thanks again for reading, Werecat | |
