| I first read this a while back and loved it. I just read it again, printed it out and read it AGAIN and each time I read it I laugh more than the previous time. This is a wonderfully silly look at the cousins, showing their competitive natures but never letting it get in the way of their deep-seated love for each other. Even Stern!Frodo can't hold out for long. Just a fun, fun story all around. I let my teenaged son read it and even HE was grossed out by Gimli-spit. Um. Eew. :-) Pips Author Reply: Hi, Pip! I'm so glad this gives you some laughs and even holds up to a few reads. That's very nice to hear and I thank you sincerely for letting me know. Every once in a while, I get whacked with the goofy hammer and things like this result. It's nice to know that my oddball sense of humor works for others. And your son? | I love the way Boromir is so bemused by Merry and Pippin and he and Sam treat them rather like a spectator sport. (Although I'm not keen on spitting contests - especially when Gimli . . . ) This is great fun. Author Reply: *snort* Well, I DID warn you about the guy humor. Heehee. | I read this a while back and I loved it. Just read it again and I love it even more! Any hope of a continuation? | I am *so* glad you posted this here, so I could review it! It's been one of my favorites since I first read it a couple of months ago--and I chuckled and then guffawed my way through it this time too. I *love* your take-charge Frodo, and I love Sam's observations to Boromir. Competitive? Not our Tooks and Brandybucks, oh no! Yeah, right. And I love the way they sucked the whole Fellowship in with them, too. I think I'm going to read it again. Author Reply: Well, thank you very much! | Aargh, that review was so lame, who wrote it anyhow? Must have been someone using my name... The whole story just gained momentum from start to finish, rather like a stone rolling downhill to the hilarious conclusion. I'm talking spit, here. The exchange between Frodo and Pippin was hilarious! I'd say more but was interrupted in the middle of typing that previous review--er, um, I meant that the person who typed that previous review must have been interrupted, that's the only explanation--anyhow, my teacup is empty and the little ones are being suspiciously quiet which probably means mischief is underway... got to go.
