wow- that was brilliant. my dog got two skunks once then another one later one, EVERYONE knew there were skunks (there were even babies living under the house) needless to say the house smelled for MONTHS. and the smell would not come off my dog (we bathed her with dog shampoo, and two cans of tomato juice twice- it turned her pink it was really funny- but she still smelled) it was a bad experience but one that we now look back upon, grateful for it to be over (another positive note for my skunk story- we found another dog because of it!) great writing- love the eomer/eowyn relationship!

Oh, this was a scream! I like stories that explain some of the discrepancies between the books and the movie and this was a very. . . unusual. . . take on one. A skunk in Edoras! I loved that last line, "The King was still under the influence of the Snake, the palace still smelled, his hair was cropped short and a lot of the winter’s hay had been ruined, but things were looking up." LOL It always helps to get a new perspective on things. ;) Author Reply: I just had to do it! I couldn't help myself! :) I'm one of those authors who likes to torture their characters, only I do it in cruel and unusual ways. :D And I can picture Eowyn with a kife just hacking away at his hair. Needless to say, he doesn't look too happy about it, either. :)

xDDD Very good! I was wondering about Eomer's hair-issue myself. ^bows^ Nicely done! I once had a skunk living nearby my house, and believe me, not a pleasurable experience. xP ~Rochwen the spastic reviewer. Author Reply: I suppose cutting off a Man's hair is like shaving a dwarf. They really don't want you to do it and they will put up quite a fight, but sometimes something perfectly disgusting just has to be done away with. :) Condolences on the awful experience. That is something I would wish on no one.

x3 Buahahaha! Poetic justice. Poor old Grima. d: Now I suppose he'd have to share a stall with Eomer. Again, great chapter, I shall finish the next one now. ^^ Author Reply: I don't believe Eomer would let him in the same stall with him. After all, *Grima* stinks! Eomer doesn't want to have anything to do with him, albeit they both smell exactly the same. :) Thanks again for the reviews.

^^ I'm returning all those nice reviews you've left for me! You had me rolling from this story, and I have only read the first chapter so far. When I have time, I will be sure to read the rest! Poor Eomer (my computer won't allow me to do special characters)! I wonder if something like this ever did happen in those times? Oo;; The Rohirrim must encounter skunks now and again. ^^ Author Reply: You know, this story had a lot of thought connected with it. Who would be the one to "get it"? At first, it was Mirkwood story and Thranduil was to be the lucky one. But, as I've said before, I'm no good with Elves; Coriel, who is good with Elves, didn't want to help me. Then I decided on Rohan. Would it be Grima? Eowyn? Eomer? Theoden? Elfwine? Finally I decided against Eowyn and pulled Eomer into one of the biggest messes of his life. (Would it be correct Rohirric grammar to say the biggest 'pickle' of his life?) :) Thanks for the review.

Now I'm worried! What if Mister Skunk was Misses Skunk and there are little stinkers about? Guess I will just have to wait and see what is going on like everyone else won't I? Author Reply: I hope, for Eomer's sake, that there aren't anymore little skunks running around. For gosh sakes, one is too much; we don't need a dozen more! And sorry about that, but I forgot to click the 'complete' button. I may add more to this story at a later date, but for now it's finished. Thanks for the reviews!

Grima gets what he deserves! Score one for the skunk! I wondered about the morning sightings but if I know you, you have an idea in the works here. I am content to wait and see what is wrong with mister or misses skunk. Author Reply: I have left the skunk's health problems up to the reader's imagination, really. I have no clue why he was coming out in the morning! Maybe he was thirsty and needed just one more glass of water before going to bed! Quien sabe? I'm glad you're enjoying Eomer's little domestic difficulty! :)

I enjoy the thought of all of the soldiers going door-to-door for tomatoes! This is very funny! You can never find good tomatoes when you need them! Author Reply: This story just wrote itself. :) I had no clue how he was going to get tomatoes! And so I just had his men wander around. But of course they couldn't find any, or the story would have been ruined! :) I had to ask my mom what color a tomato turns when it gets old and she offered to let me keep one in my room until I found out, but I politely declined her generous offer. :) I decided a grey tomato would be better than a black one. You know, not as absolutely disgusting. I wonder how the tomato smelled. Any better than Eomer? :)

Good thing Eomer got the skunk. I could almost smell that polecat; I've smelled enough around where I live. It is NOT a very pleasant smell, and I really can't blame Theoden moving to another part of the palace! Author Reply: I understand perfectly. We lived right on the highway in Texas and skunks where getting creamed on the road all the time! Besides that we had some factory down the road that, when the wind was just right, would blow stink right at us. Still, I can't help but miss that great state! :) I can commiserate with Theoden, the poor guy. I know I wanted to move when the durn thing invaded MY room. :) Thanks for the review.

That poor skunk! Well, I suppose he had it coming to him. But, Eomer's hair is short? It would take me at least a year to grow mine as long as his was in the movie. :) Author Reply: Eomer was supposed to have a long braid, but in the movie, he had shoulder length hair that he just let fly all over the place half the time. Nothing aggravates me more than somebody with long hair in his face. PULL IT BACK! OK, sorry about that. But, yeah, the skunk is dead and all may relax now.:) (Except Grima. He's not allowed to relax.)
