The Wrong Path  by White Wolf 4 Review(s)
EruannaReviewed Chapter: 28 on 2/2/2004
Wow! I really like that paragraph where Thranduil is hoping, but not wanting to hope, and all that. But I think somebody better examine Aragorn for Bi-polar or something; he's got quite the mood swings! ;-) JK. Again, good job with everyone's emotions. *sigh* Poor...Elrond! (Whoa! Big surprise there!) He must feel kinda bad...that would have been a hard speech to make! And then you surprised me (good job; even though surprising *me* isn't all *that* hard...;-)) and Aragorn notices a change! I must admit, I was kind of hoping for the same thing that Aragorn is hoping, but in the back of my mind there was this little voice saying, "You idiot, it's not going to be *that* easy..." *shakes her head dolefully* Nope. But Aragorn keeps hopin'... Y' know, this could be my overactive imagination again, but the way you said, //Besides, Mordraug was now dead and could never hurt anyone again.// kinda sent chills up my spine, and I started to wonder if he was really dead. I mean, I *thought* he was, but how are we helpless readers supposed to know? And that's a *nasssssty* cliff hanger...*pouts* Yeah, um, overall, everybody's emotions; especially Thranduil's, Aragorn's, and Elrond's, are very well done. Keep it up!

Yes, I did realize that it would be almost cruel for Legolas to see his mother (oh, my POOR x xyz baby!) (Algebra kicking in...*shudders*), and who knows! Maybe if he'd seen his mother he would have stayed! *collective gasp* ;-)

Yeah, I had hoped that after Legolas got a few thousand sites dedicated to him in like, the first two weeks of the release of FotR, that PJ would have given him a bigger part...*sigh*

Really? I'm easy to talk to? Why is that? (I tend to just ramble on and on...and on...and I don't notice when everybody has completely stopped listening...) *ramles on far beyond the author's point of interest*

Keep writing!

Author Reply: Thank you for all the compliments on the various aspects of this chapter. I try hard to make every character and every event interesting for my readers. I'm glad you think I do a good job.

I did send Aragorn's emotions on a bit of a roller coaster, but then all of the guys were put through it.

Nope, things won't be easy for our dear Greenleaf. Not easy at all.

Mordraug not really dead? That's a logical idea, since no one actually saw his body. I will tell you that, yes, he really is dead. But then, this IS a fantasy story, so who says he can't still cause trouble? We shall see. :o)

I like ramblers. I can learn a lot about what a reader thinks that way.

I plan on posting the next chapter Tuesday. Eeegads. It IS Tuesday already. I must go and try to get a little sleep, at least.

i had actually read this yesterday but something got messed up and it wouldn't let me post my review!!!! argh!!!! it wouldn't let me copy it either!!!!!!

well, anyways, aside from that!!!!

oooo, oh, that hurts!!!!! "He firmly believed...He didn't know then how wrong that thought would prove to be." argh, rite after a nice reasurring chapter that Legolas is going to be ok, you have throw in (and in the last sentence too!!!) a nice note that reasurres everyone that this recovery isn't going to be a nice, short, easy one!!!!!!! oh, poor Legolas, now he's going to be tortured even more!!!!!

ah! leaving it at chapter 26!!!! i would have died with him if you left it there!!!!! on such a cliffie too!!! Legolas dying...*shudder*...staying dead...*double shudder* at least he's an elf, so we don't have to worry about mean authors writing about him withering away from old age!! (in massivly cruel deatil, i might add!) instead we have authors wrting about him withering away from sea longing and from watching all his mortal friends die!!! EVEN BETTER!!!!! NOT!!!!!! the thought of Legolas dying in Valinor is even worse!!! once i found out that mortals would stil die there i was crushed!!!! i thought Legolas would be fine in Valinor because Gimli went with him, but then Gimli will eventually die too!!!! one of Thundera Tiger's stories is about that...i don't know how many times i cried reading that!!!!! =(

well, enough rambling...POST SOON!!!!!! we cna't drawl out the angst too long!!!!!

Author Reply: Yes, the dear boy has been through a lot, but that just makes it more logical that he's not going to get over all this quickly or easily.

I would have felt better had the Valar allowed mortals to become immortal once they got to Valinor, but such was not the case. I read one story where Legolas was so far gone with sea longing that when Legolas and Gimli sailed West, Legolas died on the boat arid arrived in the Undying Lands dead. That was awful. I think the Thundera tiger story you are referring to is "Beyond This World". I must admit I actually love that story, and I cried, too, when I read it. It was very well written. It is on my favorites list. It had a happy ending, IMO, despite what happened.

I plan on posting Tuesday.

So... He is ALIVE... but with what cost?

I still love what I read, and that is a good stuff, it is.

Keep up the good work...

Sivan

Author Reply: Yes indeed, there will be a cost.

You keep reading, and I'll keep writing. :o)

Thank god, he is alive.
And once again I have to say this: Great story.

Same in finnish:
Jumalan kiitos, hän on elossa. Ja kerran vielä on sanottava: Hieno tarina.

Author Reply: Hey, I've received a compliment in two languages. That's wonderful. Thank you.

Indeed, Legolas is alive. But, as I noted, there's a long, hard road ahead of him.
