The Wrong Path  by White Wolf 5 Review(s)
*~SuGaR~*Reviewed Chapter: 41 on 3/19/2004
ACK!!!!!!!! I just want to grab that elf, shake him so hard and tell him to snap out of it!!!!!!!!!!!! Why can't he see it!?!?!?!? Argh...so frustrating!!!!!!!!! It's made perfectly clear to us, but they just don't see and no matter how loud you scream it to them, it just makes no difference cause they still can't hear you...that's called something...dramatic irony or something...

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so helpless!!!!!!!!!!! Just watching my elf break down without even realizing it and not being able to do anything about it!!!!!!!! This whole story may have made me feel that way, but I never would have been able to do anything anyway, but now!!!!!!!! Argh!!!!!!! It seems so simple...curse you Mordraug, curse you!!!!!!!! Mental breakdowns are always so painful to read especially when it's happening to my favourite elf and he's talking to himself!!!...but it's not over yet...no, precious...only more excrutiating torture for our little elf!!!!!!!!!! *sigh*

As for Thranduil sitting around and hugging Legolas...no, that wouldn't do...he can come sit around and hug me while we sit together and endure this endless torture of being so utterly helpless =) Thranduil obviously knows how that feels...

Author Reply: Believe it or not, I often feel like shaking Legolas, too. But, then I think, if I did snap him out of it, what would that do to the story? I'm afraid there Will be much more frustration and helplessness on your part. But, then I know you know that already. :o)

Maybe, after Thranduil finishes with that business in Mirkwood, the two of you can commiserate together.

More soon. A large part of the next chapter will be a nice change, brief though it is. I hope you'll like it.

Legolas is coming a little unraveled here. He's on edge and talking out loud to himself. That is very worrisome, even if his wrists are healing.

Author Reply: Legolas's problems have shifted from physical to mental. And yes, it is worrisome. I'm reminded of the phrase: Things will get worse before they get better. Of course, this is fantasy fanfic, so there's no guarantee things *will* get better. Come to think of it, that sums up RL, as well.

Another wonderful chapter! You build up the tension so well - whenever one problem is solved, the next shows up, and still the polt never feels forced. Poor Legolas, first the injuries, now nightmares and misunderstandings. This elf needs something to lift his mood! :-)
Please update soon.

Author Reply: Thank you. I try very hard to keep things moving along from one plot twist to another, and not forcing it is one of my goals. I'm glad you think I have succeeded.

Legolas does need a lift, doesn't he? Now, all we have to do it wait to see, if he gets one. :o)

More please... soon?

So... Is Legolas alright? I mean Mentally, he seemed broken.

I still love what I read, as I enjoyed read it.

Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic, it is lovely and tensed.

Sivan

Author Reply: More soon, yes.

Legolas is having a hard time mentally. Broken, no. But, he is in the process breaking. How far it goes, only time will tell.

Thank you.

Oh dear... I am getting frustrated at Legolas! But I guess that is the sign of a good story! Real life is not perfect! However much I want Legolas to realise what is happening, I know it just doesn't happen that way! Keep up the good work! Don't torture him too much longer!;)

Author Reply: RL can be very frustrating. I know watching a TV show or movie, I sometimes find myself trying mentally to knock some sense into a character, when I see what they can't. And here, poor Legolas just doesn't realize what is happening to him. Mordraug is insidious, and don't forget how vulnerable our elf is right now with all that has happened. I hope you enjoy this next part of the story.

Thank you. I will keep at it. As for not torturing Legolas much longer, umm...well, this is an angst story, after all. :o)
