Well, let's see. The cussing.... okay, in chapters ten and thirteen, you cussed. In chapter 10, you made Glorfindel call Mordrauth a 'bastard'. Well, actually, I gues that depends on where you live. I live in California (USA) and bastard is considered cussing. In chapter thirteen, you attempted to cuss. See, here's the quote: “Why you backstabbing son of a....” And finally, in one more chapter, you made someone call Mordrauth a 'bastard' again. Well, actually, before you tell me that I'm wrong, where do you live? Because that probably makes a difference in which words are cuss words and which ones aren't.

Good day,
L.S. ^_^

Once again, I enjoyed every single word of your story. You are a talented writer. ^_~

Author Reply: I live in Texas now, but I lived in Louisiana when I wrote this story. Bastard is one of those words that may or may not be considered a cuss word, depending on how it's used. I used it, because I felt that the situation required a strong word like that, and I refuse to use worse ones. The quote you gave stopped short of the full phrase, for the same reason: I don't use genuine cuss words or phrases.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the compliment.

WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I'm finally done with the story!!!! I reallly liked it, it was pretty angsty, and I noticed that in all your stories it's always Legolas that gets hurt. As in the case of "Dragonfire" (though Aragorn suffered too), and "It Was Only a Little White Lie". What I didn't like in this story was the cussing. I thought the site owner said that you have to use appropriate language.

Oh well, see you during your next update of "Dragonfire".

-Lady Saruman :P (i'm all pooped out)

Author Reply: i'm glad you liked it. It was full of angst, I know. That's just he way it came out with one thing leading to another. Legolas is my favorite character, so he's always the one getting the worst of everything. (You always hurt the ones you love.) He can handle it, though, and come out on top, as he ultimately did in this story.

What cussing are you referring to? I don't remember using any bad language in this story.

the story rocks...great story line and details well researched...

Author Reply: I'm so happy you like it. I was going for something origianl, which I strive for with all of my stories. I did do a lot of research. I'm glad it paid off.

This was an excellent story. It rates in the top 3 of my favorite fan fics. third only to "A Little Nudge Out of the Door" and "Leaf and Branch." Please keep writing, I'm planning on starting "Black Mountain" tomorrow. I really enjoyed your story. There's just a couple of your l's that are semicolons in the later chapters.
Thanks for writing such a wonderful piece, I hope Black Mountain is just as good. ;D

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I have read both of those stories you mentioned, and I am honored to have my story included with them.

I hope you will enjoy "Black Mountain". I plan on updating it next week.

As for the semi-colon errors, I try to edit out mistakes, but some of the little buggers always manage to get past me.

Indeed, I am very pleased to see Legolas physically sound and sane once more. A fine ending!

Author Reply: I thought you might be pleased that all ended well with our elf. After all I had put him and the others through, I just couldn't bring myself to have anything but a happy ending. :o)

aww its over...i really really really enjoyed reading this!! it was like all my favorite kind of fics rolled into one....flashbacks to legolas' elfling days...father/son mushiness...'good thranduil'...action/adventure/excitement/intrigue...woo hooo!!! i read the first chapter to your other fic about the mountains, which is why i decided to read this one (and im so glad i did!)...so sorry, you're not rid of me yet...he he he write well and often!!

Author Reply: Thank you, nat. I am go happy that you found all the things that you like in my story. I worked hard to get all of that in, plus humor and, of course, angst. I'm glad the length of it didn't put you off. As for good Thranduil: that's the only way I see him and the only way I would ever write him.

Don't be sorry, I definitely do not want to be rid of you. I look forward to your reviews of "Black Mountain". See you soon.

This was a wonderful story, and you have a way with language, as well as lovely style. Despite all my plans and the things I had to do yesterday, once I had started this, I kept creeping back into my room to read further. In the end, I actually forced myself to stay up until 4:30 in the morning, just because I couldn't bear the thought of stopping before I finished.

I'm looking forward to reading Black Mountain, though I'll most likely force myself to wait until it is finished to start. If I couldn't mangage to take many breaks from this one, I don't think I could stand the wait between chapters. ;-)

Thank you so much for sharing your talent and your story with us.

Author Reply: Thank you, Layton Colt for you very kind words. It is thrilling to know you found my story worthy of losing sleep. That is a real compliment.

I will welcome you as a reade/reviewer whenever you decide to join the new story.

You are most welcome. It is people like you, who say such nice things about my writing, that keep me going.

I did at times think the end would never come, but when I saw the epilogue posted I was like O.O "already?!?!?" Would really like to see Estel and Legolas get back at Elladan and Elrohir...Great to see Legolas out and about again especially in the trees again =)

Loved your whole story, even enduring the utter feeling of helplessness a lot of the way through and those cliffhangers of your ;) Will be on the lookout for your next story, hope to see you then =)

Author Reply: At times I wondered myself, if I'd ever get to the end.

I still may write about the revenge on the twins in a later story. I'm not sure yet.

I knew all along that I was going to have a happy ending. I put poor Legolas through so much pain, both physically and mentally, that I had to bring joy back to his life. It's funny. I had the basics of the Epilogue planned long before I had a lot of the other things planned. I knew Legolas would get back to the garden and the trees.

I'm glad you loved the story. If all goes well, I will be posting the new one next week. See you then.
