Hey I liked that one too! I sometimes wish I could see a picture of a newborn elfling!

*cries*What a wonderful fic.I love it..it's so emotional and it depicts life after the battle wonderfully in the eyes of the queen.

Author Reply: Thanks very much for the review and I'm glad you liked it!

The eyes of a woman sometimes see things that more traditional battle stories don't focus on, and it's only too fascinating for me to work on! Most of it never goes away, no matter what people say or think.

Wonderful. This was wonderful. Very poetic, very beautiful. I loved to read your descriptions of emotions, mixed with the seasons. Wonderful.

Author Reply: Thanks for the review, Brazgirl. I always learn new things about my writing with feedback, because the seasons didn't feature that much in my conscious mind when I was writing it!

This is lovely - and I'm no ffan of first person writing, but to see Thranduil from so close is nice.
Legolas was always (in my very humble opinion) destined to be a pivotal character fro ME, and you have him doing something along those lines before birth! Excellent.
I like the way you show the change in Thranduil, granted, he's a long way from being as welcoming a host as Elrond, but by demonstrating that he *does* have a softer side, you reveal him as a complex character - not as a "baddie elf". I hope to see more of this Thranduil (I'm off to read Naugrim, Blood Brothers, and then ... Shadow).
Thank you, you give a neat little reason for Legolas' name, a nice metaphor indeed!

Author Reply: Wow, thanks a lot for your review! I personally don't like first person writing myself, but somehow the idea for this just hit me, and I'm glad it turned out the way it did..plot bunnies aren't always evil!

And yes, Legolas is special, that much I'm sure of, otherwise they would have surely given another the task of being a member of the fellowship..! I hope to deal with the reasons why later on in the 'Shadow' trilogy (well, the PLANNED trilogy, shall I add!)

And yes, Thranduil is definitely not a 'bad' Elf..he's got his reasons, and it pains me to see people dissing him just because he was said to love treasure and tied the dwarves up..he's got a reason for hating dwarves, which I will deal with in yet another plotbunny-inspired story!

I'm flattered too that you're going off to read the rest of my works, and look forward to knowing what you think! =)

Very poetic. I love the flow of the words. It is wonderful.

Author Reply: Thank you! Like I've stated before, I never quite realised how poetic it was until reading the reviews and going through it once again! :p Glad you liked it!

It is well done
Sweet...achingly poignant

Author Reply: Thanks for the review, and yes, it's sorrowful, but I'm proud of how I managed to stay away from full-blown 'let's-torture-him-till-he-screams' angst! ;) I quite like it this way for a change, actually!

Lovely! Quite poetic for prose. Your love of your characters shines through the story, filling in the background that is otherwise left rather sketchy in the original. I like the recurring image of the new leaf and its tie to new life and new hope. Thanks for sharing!

Author Reply: You're welcome, Lindelea! I didn't quite realise how poetic the language was until a couple of other reviewers pointed it out! And yes, it's true that I absolutely love the Mirkwood royal family, something many people might not understand (I lie, what I meant was that Thranduil is often portrayed as being a son-abusing old git and I decided to say, look, he had his reasons for being as stand-offish to Elrond)..the best bit is that I can make up so much about their story and it'll still fit in with the canon!

TimonReviewed Chapter: 1 on 3/16/2004
Beautiful, moving....more, pleae?

Author Reply: I'm sorry, Timon, but there's no current plan to carry on with this story, I'm pretty sure it'll be a stand-alone, because the second chapter will just not live up to it..however, I might do further first-person pieces, so stay tuned for them (and review when/if I should ever publish them!)! =)

NICE!!
really cute.
what i like the most was, at the beggining, how the queen discribes the sorrow thranduil felt.
=)

Author Reply: Yes, a lot of people portray Thranduil as such a heartless ogre, I felt that I HAD to vindicate him..he fell out with Imladris because his father (and 2 thirds of his people and friends) during the war, would that not be enough to drive you to irrational hatred/anger? It had to be mentioned, and I'm glad so many people liked it! Thanks for the review again!
