| This was a very nice story! I, too, keyed in on the fact of Pipppin being "nearly twenty-nine", but made his birthday in April--after my sister's birthday month. No specific date. The word "nearly" could lend itself to either March or April--I just know it was "soon"! Will be looking out for more of your works here--I still like the idea of responding to reviews! Pippinfan Author Reply: Lousy "nearly"! I really liked the other version I wrote with Treebeard! Oh well, I still adore Beregond and Bergil, and it was fun to slot them into a story. | Very clever how you worked out a birthday date for Pippin! My brain doesn't work that fast or that well. LOL I loved this story. I like the teasing between Pippin and Merry. Enjoyed it when Pippin told Merry that the ulgy figure was him! Very Hobbit-like! Hope you had a wonderful birthday! Author Reply: Thank you - I certainly did have a wonderful birthday (but, of course, the real fun has to wait until the party this weekend!) I'm glad you liked my Pippin and Merry interaction. I try to base it on my own relationship with my elder cousin. Oh, and thank you for your recommendation to "Rags to Riches" - I've actually already read it, on ff.net before I (and Pippinfan) found this wonderful little site. Pippinfan has a lot of stories with Saradoc as the "bad guy", and she also has very good reasoning for his behaviour. | Yea! You're the first person that I have seen that agrees with me that Pippin was born in March. I must admit that I somehow alway glossed over that "nearly" when reading that scene between Pippin and Bergil. For some reason I thought he said he already was 29. I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who thinks he's a spring baby. For some reason, though, I always thought that Merry was born in January. Just a random speculation based on his personality more than any written hints. I also thought that it would be nice to have something in common with one of my favorite characters. You said your birthday was the 13th. Well, mine was the 12th. As much as it pains me to admit, I was already in my tweens when you came into the world. Very nice little story. It brightens a very early morning. Connie. Author Reply: Thank you for your review, and happy birthday for the 12th! I also had to read over that conversation again, and rewrite the whole story. This was originally set at Isenguard on the 4th of March, with Treebeard finding out what a birthday was, but then I saw Pippin said "nearly" to Bergil! So very annoyed! And I agree - Merry is a bit of a Capricorn! I never thought of trying to work out their birthdays through personality, but perhaps I will look into that, hehehe.
