Cloaks and Memories  by Shireling 3 Review(s)
liptonrmReviewed Chapter: 2 on 2/2/2004
What a sad, believable, intriguing story. I have always been fascinated by Eowyn and Faramir and you have deftly captured such strong emotional possibilities for the dear characters. I can certainly believe that Faramir would wear himself out, both from duty and an avoidance of grief. I adore how Eowyn accepts her strength and is now willing to accept her innate compassion as well. I am looking forward to what will be coming next.

They are both so easy to love. I'm afraid things get worse before they get better!

An angle of the aftermath I had never thought much about. A telling glimpse of both Faramir and Eowyn, if from a respectful distance. :)

Telling the story from alternating POVs was a challenge as each only sees half the picture!

There is a long way to go yet!

What a beautifully written story. Faramir spends himself in healing his city, and Eowyn discovers that she, too, is able to offer healing and gentleness in ways she never imagined.

'My' Faramir is dutiful to the point of neglecting his own well-being...much angst ensues. I just hope others don't get put off by my characterisation of him as I explore this side of his character.
