Edmund is mentioned often but there are few of any background stories of him and Theodyn, so I appreciate this story so much. Thank you enjoyed it very much.

I love this picture of Eomer as sweet and small. I normally think of him as tough and very big, although he is also very young for the responsibility he winds up with, of course. But the sweet, small boy is in there somewhere too. Author Reply: Thank you Daw, he is of course 'tough and very big', but he had a good grounding in having such loving parents.Eokat.

Ah, that is good, Eomer's bonding with Eowen , I mean. I like his oath that he gives his sister, since it runs through the LotR. I don't think I've ever mentioned it, but I like the way that this is written, you know, using expresions and their manner of speech in the narration. It makes it fully Rohirric and adds a neat depth. Glad to hear that there is to be a sequal. Four years into the future, isn't that when Eomund is slayn? (Ugh, I'm too lazy to look it up now.) That'll be sad, espeacially now that you've made Eomer's family so realistic for me. Oh, well. I must go lay a trap for the Easter Bunny. Happy Easter to you! Author Reply: Thank you Kitt. I am so glad you enjoyed this. But the sequel will only take Eomer up to eight years old. Eomund was slain when Eomer was eleven, so there may be another yet, once I get my muse for that one. I have already started on the next. Thanks again. Eokat.

Hey! Sorry I could not review for a bit, but ere I could my computer uh, died again. So now I sit at my Opa's computer catching up on stories and I was delited to see an update. Eomer's older sibling jeliousy is still playing out nice, with his thought to push Eowen's craddle. Mathelm acts utterly a boy. Trying to show a four-year-old an orc head. (Definate boy sense.) Your realistic situations still amaze me. Author Reply: Thank you Kitt, I appreciate your comments.Eokat.

I am so charmed by these loving fathers, particularly Eomund. Extra affection is just what Eomer needs, that an and understanding of what could have happened. I'm glad the little boy is happy this morning. Author Reply: You are right, Daw,Extra affection is exactly what Eomer needs and gets in abundance. Eokat.

Well, I truly cannot think of much to say, other than I liked this chapter and am looking forward to the next. I also really like how all your characters are portrayed. The essence of the Mark is really there. Author Reply: Thank you Eomer, I found the characters look a life of their own when I was writing about them. Glad you enjoyed the chapter.Eokat.

Well, that was an, um, interesting choice of words for Eomund to invoke when he found out what Eomer was up to. I couldn't exactly discern what he meant when he said it, but I suppose it works for Rohirric swearing. How old are Darthmund and Freamer? I'd think they'd at least be of an age where they wouldn't have to answer for their deed. At least, not to their father. I mean, Framhelm could lay into them all he wants, but since his sons are grown men there's not much more he can do than that. At least, not how I see it. Oh well. Author Reply: Yes, Eomund's ouburst was just sheer shock at the thought of his young son seeing an orc head. Eomund is very protective, he wants his son to be a rider and warrior, but Eomer is only 4 years old. I always suppose men to swear more when in the company of other males, I know my husband does. He would not dream of speaking thus with Theodwyn or other females in earshot, even though she has been brought up in a time of war and bloodshed. I deemed Framhelm and Freamer to be in their twenties. Yes, it seems that because they are grown men they are not answerable, but, I always thought that in their life style anyone still living under the same roof as their father would have to dance to his tune. He is Master and will always rule the roost and have the final word, no matter how old the children are. Eokat.

What a place to end the chapter! Poor little Eomer. I can see his father's point of view in all of this -- his anger at Eomer, his relief that he's OK, his anger at others. There are tangled relationships here, fathers and sons, lords and riders, brothers and little sibs. I hope they all manage to come out in one piece! Author Reply: Thank you Daw. All will come out in the next chapter, don't worry. Eokat.

You know, I have no idea where my brain went. I meant to say twenty-four years down the road, not fourteen. Sorry. Though, that would have been impressive for Eomer and Eowyn to be fighting at the Pelennor at 18 and 14. :)

This is great, though Eomer certainly steals the show. His childhood manner and curiosity are so believable. I especially loved the line where Eomer said he's rather have a pony. I wonder if he ever reflected upon that statement fourteen years down the line. :) I can't imagine the stench of that Orc head. I mean, I would suppose Orcs would already smell bad, and one that's been rotting for who knows how many days would be nauseatingly pungent. I'd say you could probably smell it with the barn doors closed at that point, and I'd burn it far away from anyone living. :) Eomer the warrior, who slays dragons every day. I loved that! I've always wondered how a battle between a dragon and the Rohirrim would go. Especially with Eomer involved. Too bad it's an unusable plot device....... Great for little kids imaginations, though. :) Author Reply: Thank you Eomer, much appreciated. Yes I am afraid that Eomer will always steal the show. I have taken on board your comments of the second paragraph and will deal with it. Sorry if it sounds a little cryptic, but all will be revealed. Eokat.
