| Ah... that was heartbreaking. I think you have caught Huan's viewpoint very well. This exactly how I had pictured him in my head. (unlike some other good-for-nothing kitties). It's probably a little bit weird to say it, but it's gratifying to hear you say it's heartbreaking. Not that I exactly *heard* it. . . ;) Of course, if Huan had been a cat instead of a dog, Carcharoth would have fled in terror. *pauses to ponder all the repercussions of that* But then, if Huan had been a cat, he would have stayed in Menegroth shedding on Thingol's favorite robes and killing the items on his desk. :) Thanks for the review! | Ah, this makes me want to cry. Huan is one of my all time favorites, and this part in the Silmarillion always made me sad. You did a good job on it for I find it touching. Author Reply: Suilad, Kitt. Hannad le. Does it sound strange to say that I'm happy it made you want to cry? ;) It's been long enough since I wrote this that I don't remember exactly, but I do remember that I wanted to cry when I was writing it. Huan is way too overlooked for such a wonderful character. His story is so very tragic, but he remains loyal to his friends. You might say he remains a true dog. :) | |
