Please forgive me for taking so long to read your wonderful story! I adore it when Frodo's happy, and what a hoot that all of his Quest-colleagues are so confounded by it all. I can just see Frodo in the bloom of health, happy and glowing and delighted with his choice of bride. Just like Bilbo, he scarcely cares what the Shire thinks of him, as long as his loved ones know the truth. Yay! Happy Frodo! Author Reply: Thanks! I was just fixing the few typos in the last chapter as you were reading. i hope it looks better now. :) I'll try to keep everyone updated as I add chapters.

This was absolutely priceless! To think there's such a thing as a hobbit who can't cook...it's almost unfathomable. I was really amused by Sam's careful tending of the garden - putting the dislodged stone back in place and watching to see if Poppy would kick loose another one. Well done, Hobbsy. Keep up the excellent work!

You know what, Poppy reminds me of someone: me! I can't cook to save my skin. I almost started a fire three times in as many months. One time all I had to do was take something out of the oven, the other time I just had to cook rice, and the last incident was actually yesterday when I left a hard-boiled egg in the pot on "Hi" for 2 hours while we were at church. All of these embarrassing escapades are in my LJ, Feb. 10 and May 9. It's an embarrassement, but one I take with a sense of humor, like Frodo. And yes, Frodo and Poppy really should learn from Sam and Rosie! I think they NEED it!

I laughed at this chapter. It was very sweet, and very well done.

*Giggles* Ganalf should really know by now not to underestimate a Hobbit, particularily not a Baggins or a Took - and especially not one who is considered to be part of the Baggins, Took, AND Brandybuck families. Now THAT is quite a combination! Well, I guess Frodo might as well continue being deputy mayor since the mayor will be his father-in-law!

Resilience and durability of hobbits, indeed! This was one of the best stories I've read yet. I can picture the look of shock on Gandalf's face when he realized that Frodo was planning to marry. It's absolutely priceless. You do an excellent job with AUs, and I look forward to reading more of your work. Well done!

This is so wonderful! I love how Frodo does his best to return to the peace and quiet he craves after returning from Mordor. He has been changed not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. He prefers solitude and reflection to partying and revelry. I also enjoy the way you characterize the relationship between Frodo and Poppy. Friends, yes...but potentially something more? Time will tell, perhaps. Excellent work!

This promises to be a very engaging story. I found the link to this tale courtesy of Marigold (though it was for chapter 3) and thought I would backtrack to chapter 1 to get caught up. You've done a fine portrayal of the hobbits here, and it shows. I loved how Frodo desired to have someone to talk to who understood things the way he did - someone who loved to read, who wanted to see the world outside the Shire. We can all use someone like that in our lives. I look forward to seeing how this story progresses. Well done!
