touching vignette. blending their humor with thier grief was perfect and seemed just what the characters would do. I don't know that it would have been such an easy decision as Gimli simply saying he was going with Legolas, but this was a wonderful picture of how it could have been.

famed melancholy of the elves...yeah, things sure take emotional turns when you're dealing with elves...it's strange, but I felt different when I read that from some other stories like this, maybe it's the backround music I'm listening to(The Grey Havens to be exact, how appropriate), but something just feels different...loved it =) *~SuGaR~*

wow...that got me all teary-eyed... You had just the right blend of sadness and humor, and I could just hear their voices. Good writing!

Very poignant. I liked the reference to the tipped over boat. Were you thinking of what really happened to Orlando and John while filming the first move? It was sad the way you described all the races but Man disappearing from Middle-earth. I love the interaction, be it serious or humorous, between Legolas and Gimli. It was all well done.
