Oh wow, this is lovely! And Frodo was healed within two days of leaving Middle-earth? Wow. I wonder if, as the years go by, Sam can have portraits drawn of his children and send them to Frodo? (You might want to correct "Mr. Frat" to "Mr. Frodo".) Author Reply: Shirebound: Thanks for your comments - I don't know how I made such a typo "Mr. Frat" instead of "Mr. Frodo" - it must have been when I used the spellchecker and the thing decided it did not like Frodo's name - LOL! I may have to revise this chapter somewhat as I had an idea that I did not include in Frodo's letter apparently - an idea I hope won't be too crazy sounding when I revise this chapter to include it! sighs Anyway, thanks for pointing out what you did - I will work on correcting cetain things, such as that spellchecker typo!

Oh! This is wonderful! I love the idea that although Frodo and Sam had to be separated physically that they still had a connection to one another through "Eagle Air Mail"! I always wondered when reading Tolkien's original if there were ANY way that these two (who, in my humble opinion, were like one heart) would be able to to still 'touch' each other in some way. I thought of perhaps a palantir (Spelling BAD!), but when I thought about it, it would almost be a cruelty because it would be one-sided...I was making the assumption that perhaps Frodo (being in the company of elves, wizards and such) might have access to one, but Sam being in the simpler company of hobbits would not...so, perhaps Frodo could see him but never communicate with him. That's just too sad. I like your idea better! It's just too bad they didn't have E-MAIL, isn't it?!? :-D Can't wait to see Sam's response! Blessings! cp Author Reply: CP: Oh yes, it would have been wonderful if they could have had email to communicate by but that is definitely a wonder of our Age! And yes, Frodo could use one of the palantir as I know at least ONE was taken back across the Sea on the Ringbearers' ship but as you said it would be rather one-side, and Sam would not be able to hear Frodo's words to him. I am not certain when the next chapter of this will be posted as I have a few other projects I need to work on but I will post again as soon as possible! Thanks again!
