A New Beginning  by Dragon 4 Review(s)
BodkinReviewed Chapter: 4 on 12/18/2004
Poor Elrond. He is so insecure. Well, so is Elros, but he is just showing it slightly differently. They are both terrified that they are going to be sent away if they displease their carers.

Gil-galad is very good for them - he is young enough to be willing to crawl under tables, and Elrond, at least, can see that he is not always, shall we say, the most mature of monarchs. They are good for Gil-galad, too - at last there is someone around who looks up to him and sees him as a provider of care.

I'm glad Elladan and Elrohir were able to grow up with two loving parents. I think I would enjoy their Midwinters more, too.

I know I reviewed on ff.net but this is too good a chance to pass up so I can reiterate how much I enjoy your writing and the opportunity to say that your portrayal of Gil-Galad is IMO perfection
The idea of wanting a lock on the door but not wanting to have to explain why sums up what I take as elven teenage angst perfectly
Once again thank you

I love this story and the way it relates to both Gil-Galad and Elrond and Elros your high king in waiting is getting to be my favourite elf and the reluctant guardian Cirdan is growing on me as well. He has certainly learnt alot about raising elflings since he first started in Ereinion and the shipwright it was good to see Gil-Galad's naneth as well. SO many lovely little phrases to enjoy write more soon
