Sorry, previous post got away unintentionally. Thank you for a beautiful story! I love it when the elders of a family are honored. Bringing the different generations into the story gave me a nice, comfortable feeling = and now I close this commentary with a very happy sigh! Author Reply: Thanks for dropping a note! "Children need to be given both roots and wings" as the story goes:) The Took tree is well planted!

What a beautiful, powerful story! Almost poetry itself! I've reread it several times just for the lovely way the words paint the picture of the history of hobbits (and that's a different slant, too - I've often wondered where they came from...I like the thought of the Firstborn being their first teachers, and cried to think they had lost that connection). I loved the way Pippin wishes to renew the memory of that connection, and the relationship he obviously has with his father (and the part Legolas plays, too!) Just a great story...I wish there was more! (Hinthint...what about expanding that little memory Legolas dredged up...was it a dream? That would be interesting :)...just a thought.) Author Reply: Well, thank you so much for your review! Tolkien hints at an elvish connection in the prologue of LOTR actually, and I always wondered what that could mean. Story-telling as a means to reconnect with the past and, specifically for Pippin and his father, just seemed right:) As for Legolas... I'm still looking for him, to be honest, but maybe he will visit again:) Thanks again for taking the time!

And a distinct pleasure it was, my dear! I can most heartily recommend this tender, and magical tale, as I can all of your stories. I am so glad you reviewed my fic - and that by doing so I found yours! I have been absolutely captivated and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Author Reply: *grin* Thanks! And not the least for encouraging me to post here :) Entirely reciprocal pleasure!
