I really admire your writing skills. You do the serious stories exactly as well as the utterly ridiculous ones, your range is simply amazing. What I don't admire is your habit of throwing out one story after another and conveniently forgetting about updating the older ones.:)(Whine:)Where is the Council of Elrond? Where is "Alas, the poor Uruk"? Now, don't try to kill me, just write new chapters! Author Reply: I won't try to kill you. I promise. Fans are too hard to come by. In fact, I added a chapter to 'Quality Time'. It likely sucks as 'The hasty earn their results'. Yes, Council of Elrond. Long promised, being worked on. Shall be posted. Thank you for your kind comments regarding my writing. You have just raised the bar. Now I must be 'amazing'. No pressure there. **Note deadpan expression** Writing, writing, writing...Lindorien

I like this, seeing those happenings from their eyes. (It is something that I don’t consider too often.) And you make it so believable! You show they were not as an Orc they fought beside, but truly had awareness. Author Reply: I am so pleased you liked this, Kitt! How can one not have awareness? Even if one buries that awareness deep beneath a veneer of unconcern? In time, all monsters must be faced, those from without and those from within. Unfortunately, it is rare we are able to choose the time or place for the encounter. Thanks so much for reading. Lindorien

My goodness you are good at this sort of thing, what wonderful writing! Yes, how do you defend the indefensible, how do you live your life with honour when those that lead you may not be honorable, what do you tell your children? Love the fic, love the thought behind it. Bravo Rose Author Reply: Thanks so much, Rose! A relative spent much time in North Africa during WW II. Likewise he was very 'involved' in the early days of Palestine. Never would he speak of those experiences. Another, a civil engineer, spent much time in Tennessee working on reinforced concrete for a project of which he never spoke. Many years after Korea another relative will say little of how his time in Service was spent, nor will he divulge any codes he might have known. Two other relatives were gassed and shell-shocked during WW I and never quite the same. Ghosts of who they once must have been is all I remember of them. There are many such stories in my family alone, a rather mundane bunch, on the whole. Stories both genders might tell, if they would, but of which they prefer not to speak. Tales of later conflicts were and are splashed across our television screens every night. This from the side considered 'honorable'. What does one tell one's children? Would that I had the answer to that question. Thanks so much for reading. Lindorien

Interesting outlook; I like the idea of how minor characters see the happenings of the books. Well done! Author Reply: Thanks Lily. I was nervous about posting this one. I read it to my husband and he said, "uh oh! Sympathetic view from the other side." However, while this poem was written by an ally regarding his actions, in Tolkien's world there is little room for this sort of regret considering they were up against Dark Lords, Ringwraiths and Orcs. I always felt that the foreign armies got a bum rap though, so I tried to give them a bit of a voice from Everyman's view. I'm glad you read this and gave it a shot. Lindorien
