Sisters  by Grey Wonderer 5 Review(s)

Pearl might make some hobbit a fine wife, but I am not ready to let her go just yet. - Grey Wonderer

What a lovely thing for Pip to say! Our Pearls may have the same temperament, but are quite different otherwise. I love your Pearl! Marvelous characterizations.

Author Reply: Thank you. Glad you liked Pearl. I sometimes feel that she has had her hands full with the rest of them. I did think that even though he complains about them all, Pippin wouldn't like to see any of them leave.

Wow, I don't know how you managed to do it, but you gave those three lasses three wonderful and different personalities! (I made Pearl and Pimpernel very similar, and then Estella and Diamond are a little like Pervinca...) Of the three, Pearl would be the thinking one and the peace-maker. Being the eldest, I suppose it makes sense. But the mice...oh, that was fantastic!

And now, on to review the final chapter :)

- Pervinca

Author Reply: Thank you so much for the reviews. Glad you enjoyed the lasses. Somehow the mice just made sense to me. Mice are so against order. LOL Also, on a farm there are bound to be few here and there. Now, I think your Pearl and Pim are not so much alike as they are in league with each other. I think of them as being very close. As to the other three, I think of them as the lasses with a sense of fun and adventure. I love all of your characters.

I like the way you described every sister's character so well. Their good points, their weaker points and the way they interact with the family. I really enjoyed reading this.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I am glad that you enjoyed this. I have one more chapter which I plan to post later today and then it will be finished. Thanks for reading.

"She is the most likely to indulge me and she is the one that pleads my case with my parents when I have been up to no good. Nell won’t give me away to them, but if I’m caught then she lets me dig my own holes. Pervinca will dig the hole for me and shovel the dirt in on top of me. "

Oh, that one made me laugh...I could just hear Billy, er, I mean Pippin, saying those lines...

-Laura

Author Reply: LOL I almost always hear Billy when I write Pippin. I know I shouldn't, but after seeing the movies so many times, I just can't help it. Glad someone else so in the same boat. Thanks for the review and I am glad that it made you laugh.

Pearl is wonderful! Totally organized, poor lass, someone needs to be in that family! LOL!

Another great chapter to a really cute story.

"Pearl also never panics. I have come to her bleeding from both knees, my nose, my elbows, my head, with both eyes blacked, and once, though I don’t wish to discuss it, with a bucket stuck on my head. Nothing panics her. I have tested her and she will remain calm and sort out whatever the trouble may be. She will stop bleeding, bandage wounds, hold cold cloths on swollen eyes, bring down fevers, find missing blankets and remove stubborn buckets from your head. The only thing that upsets her is mice."

I loved that paragraph- He had to test her to make sure she never panics!

Bravo!
