I like this, LKK! What a privilege and honor it must have been to be the smith chosen to reforge the sword of Kings! The sword that might defeat Sauron again.

Yes, I have wondered about the reforging. I liked seeing Peter at least tip his hat to it. The pride that would go in it. I think it is going to be the last thing this elf forges in Arda, perhaps, since even in the books the elves are leaving ME.

So very very nicely done; you make me see their friendship as something deeper than I thought before. I don't know that I gave it much thought, as I read the LOTR. Thank you.

I did not think of this, that Legolas would be furious. Hmmm. I guess he would at that. But would he really think that dwarves would not know beauty when they saw it? I thought at the very least elves recognized the beauty of dwarvish craftsmanship. I'm reading the silmarillion now, and it says the dwarves taught the elves much in the way of crafting things, and loved the jewel work. And, of course, they appreciated having the good, metal weapons when the orcs came. (Tolkien says this is why Eru Thingol's group vaquishes the enemy but Cirdan's and others do not.) Anyway, it was so long before Legolas was around, I bet he never thinks of stuff like that.

How, indeed, to avenge that which can never be made right again. Killing will not do it. Poor Celebrian. Would it take having one's memory erased?

Yes, why IS that umbrella oddly shaped? I bet she doesn't let him have the stuff back, but I hope he makes her. Grasping people. What do they think stuff will avail them?? (Had a sister-in-law like this.) K
