Oh this makes me want shout praises to God

I like the way Bilbo composed the song and everyone else just picked up the tune. Somehow this reminds me of the ideas of co-creation found in "Tree and Leaf." A beautifu thought that I hope turns out to be true!

I have thoroughly enjoyed your little glimpse of "heaven." Simply lovely! And as beautifully written as all your stories. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

A big fan,
Calime

Author Reply: Oh yes - I hope so too! I so much hope to find that Frodo and Sam have become "real" in heaven - and I have to confess - Canohando, too. Wouldn't it be fun to watch Sean Astin meeting Samwise in person?

And thank you for your reviews - you brightened my day very much.

I like how the memories were peeled away and the core of Pippin's hurt was exposed and brought to the light. This rings so true, though of course we can't be sure how we will be totally healed. I like your ideas immensely.

Terrific!

The best part of this chapter is the description of love being "more, not less." It is so true that God could never take away something beautiful and good to replace it with a lesser gift. I wish every Christian understood this truth the way you have expressed it!

Author Reply: LOL! My husband liked that bit too!

I think my eyes are sparkling a bit more than usual! Water has always had a special place in my imagination of heaven; your picture is delightful.

Having Frodo's wake up naked since he was so filled with shame was an inspired idea. I like how Sam and Frodo each had a different encounter: how the Lord met them where they were. Beautiful!

Author Reply: I'm so glad you're enjoying this, Calime. I have to admit, I had a wonderful time writing this - it was such fun trying to imagine a heavenly country! And I have a feeling the Lord really does meet each of us individually, where we are and "who" we are... unlike the way we sometimes try to make everyone fit the same mold...

Wonderful! This was the highlight for me: “You can love him, but you must be my Sam, as he is my Frodo, and Rosie is my Rose.” So simple and beautiful--an excelent beginning.

Wow. This was marvelous...fantastic...wonderful... Each hobbit of the Fellowship received a healing from grief in the arms of the son. Have you ever thought of adding to this? I don't have any suggestions at the moment, but I certainly would like to read more of this!

If your other stories are anything like this one then I'm definitely coming back for more! I loved this. Thank you for sharing this awesome tale!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your wonderful reviews, Pippinfan. I've been away for two days and came home to find your comments one after another like pearls on a string, and what a lovely finish for a long day!
I don't know quite how I would go about adding to this, but I have to admit I love writing about heaven - maybe something will occur to me again someday. As to my other stories -- I guess there's a strong Christian thread running through all of them, although not as overt as in this one (I hate it when authors write about heaven and leave out God - He is kind of the whole point!)

Thanks again!

"It's as if the whole world we were used to, was only a dream, or a reflection in a mirror. Now we see the reality." - Jodancingtree

A reflection of one of my many favorite verses! Most beautiful!! I know I keep saying that, but it is the truth. And how you wrote of there being "houses along the road"...until I read this, I always imagined His mansion in finite terms--can't help it, I'm human. But no more; just now, you were His instrument to toss that confining idea of mine to the curb. Streets of Gold, Tall Messengers...fear being peeled away until it disappears. Thank you for sharing that.

Now a Hobbiton in heaven! Is there anything more wonderous? ;-) The deep love of the Son...captured so beautifully. I am amazed and humbled--my little "dabble" doesn't hold a candle to this bright torch of a tale. This is marvelous!

I like your "heaven"! So vivid and so colorful. Blue crabs, green fish, amethyst stones at the bottom of a clear, effervescent riverbed...mother-of-pearl crayfish! I was like Frodo; I didn't want to come out! Beautiful--and from what I've read...quite scriptural. :-)
