And this one I can imagine making its way around the Shire as a song, maybe sung on top of tables with a tankard of ale in hand. Bravo! Author Reply: Well, it was certainly inspired be several scenes from the LotR movies :) Thank you for your lovely reviews for these poems. I've been so hesitant about posting them here. It's nice to know they're enjoyable :) - Pervinca

Very nice little summation of the scene with Smaug! I can easily imagine Sam or Frodo coming up with this and jotting it down some afternoon in Bag End. Author Reply: Now that is certainly a compliment! In my opinion, Sam and Frodo are master poets :) Smaug has to be one of my favourite characters from The Hobbit. I can only hope that he (along with the rest of The Hobbit) will be brought to screen as well. - Pervinca

This is wonderful! And you were only thirteen? I still have a lot of the poetry I wrote in my teen years, and most of it is atrocious. I have to say that I appreciate poetry with *structure*--I like rhyme schemes and rules. You've done splendidly! Author Reply: Yes, I still have most of my writings from my younger years, all piled up in a shoebox, and there they will probably remain. This one was such a difficult rhyme scheme to use, so thank you for letting me know you thought it was all right! Though I like poetic structure, I usually tend to stick to either limericks or the more basic rhymes. - Pervinca

LOL...this was fantastic! This is something more at my level, though I'm not good at it at all (read a couple stories at ff.net for proof!). Thank you for sharing these! Perhaps you've inspired me--we'll have to see. Pippinfan Author Reply: You're not giving yourself enough credit! Go on, I know you can do it - I mean, if I can, you certainly can :) I'll have to get all my riddles sorted out now so I can post them here too! - Pervinca

I can't tell you how much I think you missed your calling! I do hope you continue to dabble in poetry or writing on the side as you grow in your other choice of profession. Actually, I believe this prose to be one of the more difficult ones to create/master. JRRT had Sam reciting one like this after finding the old trolls from Bilbo's adventure. I don't mind saying that I'd have a hard time with the likes of this. Very well done! :-) Pippinfan Author Reply: I certainly plan to continue writing - I enjoy it so much! Maybe one day (in the distant future :P) I can read my little stories to my children, and hopefully inspire them to join the wonderous world of fanfiction :) I liked this one better than the other one, but that's just me :P - Pervinca

Hey, you were a young teen and obviously a very talented one, at that! Don't apologize--though I was a bit taken back with "breed him"!...lol. This is great! Pippinfan Author Reply: Lol, I've had "breed him" picked up by several people - mind you, my english teacher never said anything about it. He was rather strange :P (In fact, he reminded me a little of Gandalf!). Talented? Me? I wonder what happened :P - Pervinca (P.S. I thought you're little "pervincalovesmerimas" hint at the botton of you lj reply was very cute :P Doesn't quite have the same ring as pervincalovesev though)

LOL...we did that in the 9th grade--"year nine" for you? Once we had to read a poem in front of the class--extra credit if it was memorized. I memorized the first part of an Emily Dickinson poem. I forgot to bring it to class and ended up a bad mark for that! Sigh. Can't remember the title, but it went like this: Laugh, and the world laughs with you, Cry, and you cry alone. For the sad old earth must borrow it's mirth, and has trouble enough of it's own. After all these years...
