Light Out of Darkness  by shirebound 17 Review(s)

Huh. Yes, I guess his ring would have been in there somewhere. Yet another thing I never thought of -- and kind of creepy...

Author Reply: It's such a thrill to come up with new little ideas (such as, what happened to the Witch-king's ring?). Thank you for reading.

Yes, the Light of Anduril has now been unveiled for Frodo's peace of mind--and a wonderful act it accomplished, between hands of King and Hobbit, as that one was killed jointly by Hobbit and daughter of Kings. One who gave up all to accept the ring he wore and its lying promise, and who has at last lost the ties to this world and the power he manipulated while in it.

So glad I found this one.

Author Reply: Wow, thank you. Your eloquence reminds me of how this chapter nearly became a short story unto itself. I really loved thinking out this scene.

This was such a great idea! Aragorn letting Frodo see one of his worst enemies slain, so Frodo can let go of the pain and fear slowly... I thoroughly enjoyed this!

And this:

“Really, Aragorn,” Frodo sighed, “there are times when hobbits think about something other than food.”

“And is this one of those times?”

Frodo grinned down at him. “No.”

Awww! :D I love hobbits. Can't help it!

*HUGS!*

A nice look at Anduril, and a good use of it too.

Aragorn is very kingly here, in that unassuming down to earth ranger way of his. The light of Anduril was a good way to push back the shadow, forever, I hope. I have wondered what happened to the rings when Sauron's was destroyed.

I liked this chapter very much. I had never thought that the Nazgul would still have their rings. Very cool thought. I'm looking forward to more chapters soon.

Hobbits ever think of anything besides food? Impossible, I don't believe it;-).

*giggle*

What a lovely chapter. I appreciated how you showed everything coming full circle and how the physical proof of the death of that particular Nazgul would hold a powerful healing for Frodo. Words are useful and soothing, but, at times, actions are so much more important.

And, a wonderful depiction of the Frodo/Aragorn relationship, as always.

Sorry I'm so slow at getting around to reviewing. I was gone for a couple of days.

I really like this chapter. I hadn't thought about Frodo needing closure about the Witch King. It makes sense though. After all he was the one who actually stabbed poor Frodo. It was really a clever idea that Frodo should look for the ring and that it should take both Aragorn and Frodo to properly destroy it.

I also like it when Aragorn picked up the hilt of Merry's lost sword. I wonder if he has something in mind to do with it so that all will know the valor of another hobbit besides the Ringbearer.

Thanks.

Connie.
