Aww, adorable! (I do love me some wee!Sam now and then.)

Nitpick: recipe, not receipt. =)

Author Reply: Thanks, dear! Wee Sam is such fun to write!

A nitpick to your nitpick: A receipt *is* a recipe. :D

I enjoyed it so much that a plot bunny came running out at me the next day and so I am writing a sequel to yours! Hope you don't mind. :) *hugs you, hobbits and bunny*

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yay! A sequel! I'll be on the look out for it!! *hugs you as Sam feeds coneys*

Oh, I adore this! I love the way Sam makes any and all of Frodo's examples useless. And I do think that Hobbits would enjoy doing math more if it involved food. Adorable!

Author Reply: Sam's Gamgee practicality did rather put a thorn in Frodo's analogies. Frodo will remember to go straight to the picnic hypothetical in the future. ;) Thank you, dear! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! *hugs*

That's soooo sweet, gamgeefest! I love how patient Frodo is and isn't Sam adorable here?
Thanks a lot, my friend!
*hugs you tight*

Author Reply: *hugs* Thank you again, dear heart! I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday present! Sam is utter cute, and Frodo is the picture of patience. :D

That is so cute that Frodo taught Sam his sums. I like the examples you used because it's so hobbity! And your last line is oh so true. :)

Author Reply: Thank you Peri! Frodo is a very patient tutor and Sam is such a sweet and eager pupil. Nothing will get a hobbit's attention, especially such a young hobbit, quicker than food!

Love it, love it, love it! :)

Oh my goodness, what a delightful story! I laughed at little Sam's comments so many times. A most practical Gamgee, with a heart of gold.

Thank you so much!

*hugs*

Author Reply: Thank you Shelley! Sam is ever the practical hobbit, even at this early age. Frodo should have remembered that before he tried to convince Sam to divide a recipe for bread pudding! :D

Thank you for reading! *hugs*

I am giggling because, as a teacher, I've had Sam in my classrooms! Sometimes he's been a girl, and he's had MANY names, but he's been there! Yes, practicality can, at times, prove daunting! Heh! Love it!

Author Reply: I'm pretty sure I've *been* Sam to some poor teacher somewhere along the line. Teaching requires so much patience, I admire you for doing it, dear! Thanks for reading!

His questions might drive you mad but isn't it true joy to see that light of understanding dawn?

Author Reply: Sam is a quick study - once you get him around to actually working the problem, lol! Frodo should be proud of them both for getting through that lesson!

I'm pretty sure I had a "chart of multiples" myself, way back when.

“But you’re the one who’s making it, so you can read the receipt,” Frodo said, beginning to understand why Bilbo had dispatched his pupil upon his unsuspecting heir.

LOL! This is a sweet and fun story.

Author Reply: I had a multiplication chart also. Very useful it was.

Bilbo is a tricksy hobbitses, yes he is. :P I'm sure Frodo will find a way to make it up to him though. :D
