| How utterly beautiful. Taking us from when the woman met Legolas as a small elfling to when Legolas visits her years after and then her grave speaks volumes to immortality and mortality. As with Aragorn's passing, this piece reminds us that, living forever can be as much of a curse as it is a blessing, and the great price the elves must pay for befriending humans and then seeing them pass. | |

| I just ran across this story and liked it very much. Some tales are best told from the point of view of an original character. What I also like about this is the implication that later in his life, when Legolas becomes friends with Aragorn and later with the other mortal members of the Fellowship, he knows exactly what he is letting himself in for and has presumably decided that it is worth it. That's interesting and, I think, realistic. | |

| Oh, this is a lovely story. The descriptions of Thranduil and elfling Legolas are wonderful! And seeing how the narrator has aged, while Legolas has not yet attained his majority is very striking. Very well done. | |
