Of Merry and Pippin  by GamgeeFest 10 Review(s)

Oh, Sweet Eru!
Pippen on chocolate is almost as bad as a Balrog on steroids!
Lynda

Author Reply: Hehehe! I think the Balrog would run away. Too bad Gandalf didn't think of that strategy. :P

Pippin is bad enough even without the sugar rush. I think Bilbo will be finding harder to open jars for Pippin's next visit.

Thanks for reading!

*Laughs hysterically* This is me as a child. Actually, this is me *now*, but I have learnt a little self-restraint in terms of not eating entire tubs of choclate syrup... I'm sure Pippin will one day too.

Author Reply: LOL. That's me too, though I've also learned some self-control. Pippin will have self-control forced upon him before too long. That child and sweets are just a disaster waiting to happen, as we see here.

Thanks for reading!

What a wonderful story! I can't wait to read the rest!

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Pippin and chocolate make for a rather entertaining, and tiring, combination. :)

Wow! Using "energetic" to describe Pippin is such an understatement! LOL! He reminds me of some of the kids I babysit sometimes. The ending of this was priceless--after all that playing, he STILL isn't tired! :)

Author Reply: Well, Bilbo really should have known better than to give Pippin pie at dinner. :) I don't even want to think of what they woke up to in the morning, lol! Thanks for reading!

All these are wonderful! HyperPippin has to be the best. Yay Sam! I love it when he saves the day! Thanks! I needed a laugh.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! Glad I was able to give you a laugh. Hyper!Pippin is a handful, in fact, he's several handfuls, lol. Sam to the rescue as usual. Now if only he could find a way of keeping a Took out of that pantry.

*giggles* I love it!!! Hyper hobbits always appeal to me, for some odd reason, especially Pippin!! Wonderful Job!!! *Hobbits and chocolate, a match made in heaven...or elsewhere, depending upon whether you're a little hobbit or a little hobbit's mother!*
HL21

Author Reply: Or a little hobbit's cousins who get stuck trying to wear him out, lol! Hyper hobbits are fun and Pippin, who's hyper enough as it is, would be unstoppable. Thanks for reading, glad this gave you a giggle.

Sam is such a star. He is the archetypal loyal henchman - the one who can do anything, but still thinks Mr. Frodo is the cat's whiskers. Whereas, I'm glad to say, Mr. Frodo knows that without Sam he would be cats' meat.

Lovely tale of indomitable Pippin.

Author Reply: That's Sam all right, practicle, level-headed, capable of anything, but more aware of everyone else's abilities than his own. Frodo's all too aware of how much he needs his Sam around, and now Merry's joined the bandwagon too. Hyper!Pippin is one of my favorites, almost as much fun as Inquisitive!Pippin. Thanks for reading.

LOL! I want to adopt Sam, too! I have an 11-yr old lad who reacts the same way to chocolate - OFF THE WALL! Sam would be a great sitter. I love the easy, loving relationship you portray with our cousins, the simplicity of Sam's solution to the problem of a sugared-out Pippin, and the final picture of them all lying together in a heap, wiped out. Except for that sneaky Pip! These are just precious stories. I do hope you will continue them. :-)

Author Reply: Yes, everyone should have a Sam, he's a very valuable commodity. :) Sam would be a wonderful sitter, he has such an easy-going manner. I'm sure he has all kinds of tricks up his sleeves to keep a child preoccupied and entertained all day without exhausting himself in the process.

It's been a long time since I've been around a bunch of hyperactive kids, but I certainly remember what it was like. That's something you never forget! Add to that a mischevious Took and you're in for trouble. At least Merry and Frodo got worn out. ;) Thanks for reading and thanks for the lovely review. I'll post more as I think of them.

Oh, thank you, thank you thank you!! I *told* you I loved Hyper!Pip, and here I get Hyper!wee!Pip; what a lovely treat! Even better than a whole jar of chocolate syrup!!

Author Reply: You're very welcome! But nothing is better than a whole jar of chocolate syrup, though little Pip does come close. :) I think the only thing more dangerous than a bored Took is a Took on a sugar high, lol! Bilbo will be buying locks for those pantry doors. ;) Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for reading.

Too cute! Love of chocolate can drive us to our limits.

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Chocolate can indeed be a dangerous addiction, especially for a Took like Pippin. I can see why his parents limit his sugar intake. Thanks for reading.
